Performance

Relatively low price; excellent VHS-to-DVD dub quality in one- and two-hour modes; friendly, step-by-step menus; upconverts VHS playback for component-video output; records to DVD+R/+RW/-R/-RW formats; also records to CD-R/-RW in VCD, SVCD, or audio...

Scant editing options; no flexible recording speed; no IR blaster for changing cable or satellite boxes; can't automatically create thumbnailed chapter menus.

With easy-as-pie operation, Lite-On's LVC-9006 VHS/DVD combo recorder is a great choice for beginners and just about everyone else that's looking to turn their VHS tapes into DVDs.

Good so far

I've had this recorder for about a week and so far so good. I agree about the sound, but it's not low all the time, if I have the recorder off and just watching tv it's ok. I've recorded to dvd and the sound is ok and the video is pretty good quality....
