Of course the basic strength is the up-sampling process, but it is also a solid piece of work, top notch finish and looks the part. Having seen 'real' HD this come in as a pretty close second and CD reproduction excellent.

Some confusion with the front panel controls, though one never really needs to use them.

The Marantz DV6001 is one of the best DVD players available at this price -- it boasts both CD and DVD upscaling and comes in an attractively slim package to boot.
