No continuous time shifting, analogue, weak MP3 and JPG handling

Huge hard disk capacity and excelent recording quality. It realy is impossible to tell if it's live or recorded. The time slip function that allows you to watch the begining of a programme that you are still recording is fantastic.
None. It does exactly what I want it to do.

While this model is getting old now (Has since been replaced) I purchased one for $699 which is a bargin in anyones language of course it doesn't have as many features as the new model such as HDMI or advanced menus but I never use that stuff anyway.
Made in Japan, Great recording quality, Impressive looks
Weird scroll wheel on the remote, No component input, assignment of AV connections is weird - Front is 1 and rear is 4
