Get Freeview HD and 3D Blu-ray in one go with Panasonic's impressive combi recorder.
Lots of features ; Flexible recording and editing functionality ; Outstanding Blu-ray and hi-def Freeview picture quality
Poor EPG ; Comparatively limited web content ; Noisy SD pictures
However, there is an Ethernet port and a second USB port specifically designated for Panasonic’s TY-CC10W communication camera, which is required if you want to use Skype video calling – one of this unit’s most alluring features.

A Freeview HD PVR which also has a Blu-ray player built-in
Impressive picture and sound ; record two channels at once ; network and internet access
No BBC iPlayer ; some have bigger hard disks ; separates perform marginally better
Panasonic’s new all-in-one one-box is a very accomplished all-rounder

You might think that a Blu-ray player with a Freeview HD recorder shoehorned into its case would suffer from clicks and thrums, or that co-habitation would add unflattering pounds.
Compact; excellent Blu-ray pictures, good Freeview HD recording
Limited file support across a LAN; limited UK portal content; daft 3D picture processing; small HDD

Review In the Twilight Zone between Blu-ray players and DVRs you'll find Panasonic's DMR-PWT500 that boasts a combination disc spinner and digital TV timeshifter. Space-saving convenience is main USP of this hybrid, so if you want one box that can do...

Panasonic DMR-PWT500GL review: an all-in-one 3D PVR and Blu-ray player
BD, DVD, TV, 3D in one device ; Built-in Wifi ; 2D to 3D conversion
The convenience is expensive ; No VIERA Connect video-on-demand service ; Limited functionality while recording
The Panasonic DMR-PWT500GL represents a convenient all-in-one product for consolidating your media consumption -- it can handle Blu-rays, DVDs, digital TV and 3D content. It's not perfect though -- there's no way to get your recordings off for...

The overriding bad point is that the TV cannot be used whenever the DVR is switched ON. Either way the DVR interferes with the aerial signal input and output. Also the aerial input is prone to loss of signal - I had to wait until the digital signal was...

Good editing facilities. Excellent image quality. Built in Blu-ray player a bonus at cost of stand alone PVR.
Constant advert in EPG extremely irritating.

Very easy to set up, had no problems whatsoever. A very good unit. Cant give it top marks as there is no HDMI included in the package.
No HDMI cable. But i anticipated that and bought 2 online which only cost half the amount charged for one at the store.
