User-friendly, feature-packed combi at a bargain price

Loads of features ; Excellent recordings ; Slick operating system

No USB DivX support ; No Gracenote ; Single Freeview tuner

A superb combi recorder with loads of features, but you'd be mad not to find the extra £20 and snap up the superior 250GB RDR-HXD995

This does everything we hope for from a DVD/HDD recorder and in fine style – no more than we've come to expect from Sony

It might not be blessed with the biggest hard-drive but this DVD recorder could have the quality and compatibility you're after

In addition to the six 'preset' recording modes is a 'manual' setting that can be tweaked in 32 steps, and thus tailored to one of the many sources that can be attached to the machine. And as if such flexibility wasn't enough, the 890 gives you a bank...

Performs exceptionally well, masses of useful features

Does everything you could want from a DVD/HD/TV recorder/player plus more! Very reliable. Very responsive to controls.

The auto updating is amazing,even though i have had the set for over 5 years Sony are still udating the soft ware unlike Samsung etc who have the means but never used and just a selling point...more info should be given on this because sometimes the...

The remote has to be touch sensitive in future....
