The Kindle Paperwhite is Amazon's mid-range ereader, sitting between the affordable Kindle and the top-end Kindle Oasis in Amazon's range, and the design reflects that. It doesn't feel as premium as the Oasis - mostly as it has a plastic rear - but...
Waterproof design Audiobook integration A great reading experience
Plastic design Limited color options Still uses microUSB
The Kindle Paperwhite takes a lot of what we love about the more expensive, high-end Kindle Oasis and brings the core features into a more affordable package. This is a must-have ereader if you're after a way to read ebooks but you don't want to spend...

Is the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite a bright idea or just a flash in the pan?
Sharp ; bright front-lit displa ; Easy to read new fonts ; Cutting edge reading features
Over-sensitive touch tech ; Dodgy browser ; Fewer features than US

Better design ; Best balance of functions for the price ; Battery life ; Water protection
Kindle Store can be confusing ; Micro-USB and no fast charging
The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is still the best Kindle to choose. It gives you that important illumination over the basic model, without the cost of the Oasis. For many people, this will be the model to pick.

Amazon's most popular Kindle can now join you for bath time
It’s waterproof! ; It’s Bluetooth! ; Books look great ; (Very slightly) improved brightness
Still feels a bit sluggish at times ; Smudges
Still the best overall Kindle when price is taken into consideration, and now it gains the Oasis’ best tricks

A fantastic ebook reader, whose built-in light is currently the best in the business

A fantastic ebook reader, whose built-in light is currently the best in the business, and the price is right too
The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite doesn’t need Amazon Prime to establish itself as the market-leading ebook reader, though. It will be love at first sight for anyone who claps eyes on one, for one reason and one reason alone: that front light.

Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite has long been the go-to e-reader, and for good reason. It provides an enjoyable reading experience with enough premium features to keep most literary lovers happy. Now, with the addition of Bluetooth/Audible and...
Audible support ; Waterproofing ; Improved design ; Better-contrast display
Pricey when fully loaded (LTE and 32GB storage and no “special offers”) ; No MP3 or text-to-speech support

The Kindle Paperwhite (2018) has long been Amazon's most beloved ebook reader. After three years of waiting, the Paperwhite finally got a refresh for 2018. And while it may look the same as its predecessor, new features like Bluetooth connectivity and...
New IPX8 water-resistant design is great for tubs and pools ; Access to massive bookstore ; Good battery life ; Bluetooth connectivity for audiobooks
Cannot customize page-turn gestures ; No option to adjust color temperature
The Kindle Paperwhite isn’t perfect, but an excellent ebook reader for people in the Amazon ecosystem. It’s portable, durable, and allows you to enjoy your favorite books in multiple formats.
