The cheaper model is the better buy for most people
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is a wonderful device with a great screen, excellent features and long battery life. For most people, though, the cheaper model will be a better buy.

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition gives you tonnes of storage, a big 6.8-inch screen and wireless charging
6.8-inch screen ; Completely waterproof ; Wireless charging
More expensive than the Paperwhite
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is one of the best e-readers you can buy right now - it has 32GB of storage, a big 6.8-inch screen, automatic brightness, no ads and wireless charging. It is pricier than the standard Paperwhite but it's worth it!

A new Kindle Paperwhite tier, a (slightly) new experience
Bigger screen area than predecessor ; Longer battery life ; USB-C is convenient
Wireless charging is finicky ; High price ; Slow page turn speed
The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is a good ereader, but the few premium perks, like wireless charging and an auto-adjusting display, don’t quite justify the price leap from the standard Kindle Paperwhite. Still, upgrades to USB-C and a wider...

The Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition is the best eReader you can buy, but the extra features here are overkill for most people
Great display with adjustable warm light ; Stellar battery life ; Solid performance ; USB-C and wireless charging
Ineffective auto brightness ; Some software inconsistencies ; Relatively expensive ; No 4G model
Th e brand-new Signature Edition is a huge upgrade over the 2018 Paperwhite, but so is the new regular model . Unless you need more storage or wireless charging, it’s probably worth saving some money.

It's not much pricier than the regular Kindle Paperwhite (2021) and you get more storage, no ads, and wireless charging.
Great display ; Tons of storage ; Auto-adjusting front light is useful

Amazon's Paperwhite Signature Edition offers more features than standard model, including wireless charging and automatic front light adjustments, but they aren't worth the extra $50.

For 2021, Amazon is splitting the Kindle Paperwhite line in two. Yes, there's a new $139.99 Paperwhite model, with a bigger display and longer battery, but it's joined by the first Kind…
Bigger display is now brighter ; Finally, USB-C charging ; Signature Edition gets convenient auto-brightness and Qi ; Longer battery life
No cellular option ; Some software features feel gimmicky ; No headphone jack

If it's not broken, you don't have to fix it. But fine-tuning is encouraged.
