Magellan RoadMate 5045-LM

 

Despite a $250 price, the Magellan RoadMate 5045-LM feels like a higher-end device with its big, bright 5-inch display, lifetime free map updates and traffic reports.

Includes lifetime map updates. Big, bright 5-inch screen. Very fast boot-up. Clear voice prompts. Easy address entry and POI search.

Doesn't display road speed limits or current speed. A little too talkative on the highway. Occasional ads.

I've been very displeased with the Magellan Roadmate 5045-LM (The LM stands for Lifetime Maps updates). For instance, the voice will say "take a RIGHT turn" while the arrow on the map shows a LEFT turn (left turn is correct). I've had instances where...
