The Rosewill Helios RK-9200 keyboard offers a mix of gamer-friendly features with a design that keeps things simple and doesn't get in your way.
Consumer review (newegg.com)
Everything you could want from a barebones mechanical keyboard. Feels awesome with MX Browns. Stays clean and is durable.
No fancy features such as LED lighting, but fine if you're not into any of that.
Consumer review (newegg.com)
Feels great to type on, isn't clacky or cheap sounding Durable, feels like you could hit someone over the head pretty hard with it and it not break! Looks good, not like it was designed by a teenager like many gaming keyboards
USB connector is still weak and breakable, even without abuse USB and PS2 cables were angled at the plug the wrong way, my computer is on the right on my keyboard, so it awkwardly angles inward left then rights to the right to my tower
Consumer review (newegg.com)
Keyboard feels excellent to type on. Looks cool without looking like cheap plastic or something a 13-year old designed. Really solidly built, with the exception of the USB connector.
USB connector is still prone to breaking. The cable provided bends the connector 90 degrees to the left, not the right. My computer has to be on the right side of my desk, so this makes the cable run awkwardly across my desk instead of straight out of...

very good price/value ratio feels very smooth while typing usb connection
angled cable for no reason, I replaced this with straight rosewill USB A - Mini USB from newegg wonky mini usb connector, classic usb would have been better limited support on osx keyboard LEDs don't work reporting caps lock/num lock/scroll lock, but...

If you're looking for a no frills mechanical keyboard on a budget, I can't think of anything better.
Rosewill uses legitimate Cherry MX switches on a budget keyboard, which is a rarity. I've been using my RK-9000 with blues for a few years now and I still love it. The added media keys and Windows key lock are a nice touch. This thing feels very solid...
I personally don't care, but the lack of backlighting might bother some people.
Consumer review (newegg.com)
This item is definitely worth the money, regardless of the switch types that you get. I own this with Cherry MX Blues and Reds, and they're both outstanding keyboards. If you're looking for a mechanical keyboard and don't want/need any backlighting,...
- Heavy, durable build - Windows lock key for gaming - Compact, yet full bodied design - Cherry MX Switches are excellent and this keyboard makes them the star of the show - Braided modular cables - Comes with PS2 and USB cables, in case you need that
- No USB pass-through - Cables plug in to the keyboard at a right angle, which is weird for my setup (I'd prefer it to go straight like other cables)
Consumer review (newegg.com)
This is a very nice board for what the 69 bucks I paid for it. I've been using it for a few months now (I think) and can say that I don't have any real complaints. It's cherry mx, it has a really healthy weight and feeling of substance when you pick it...
Price Cherry MX Weight High-quality sleeved USB and PS2 cables included.
Plastic case
Consumer review (newegg.com)
Snazzy lit keys. However, it's only the top half of each key that is lit. So, unlike every other keyboard I've used, the numeric keys have the numeral on top, and the special character on the bottom.
mechanical switches
Not a distinct click - more like a sewing machine. It doesn't appeal to me, but I wouldn't reduce the rating on that basis. It h as two more serious flaws. For one, the cable plugs into a mini-USB connector on the back. That's not a really strong...
