Google's Chromebook Plus platform isn't quite as exciting as we'd hoped
Good all-round specification ; Sturdy build ; Decent screen
Plain styling ; App support is still lacking ; Chromebook Plus features underwhelm

Asus puts all the gray, boring Chromebooks out there to shame with the sleek and all-white CX34.
Beautiful white design. Good port selection. Intel Core i5 CPU offers plenty of power. Webcam looks great.
Battery life is just okay. 16:9 display feels cramped next to taller competitors. No backlit keyboard.

Asus' Chromebook Plus CX34 is one of the first products to take part in Google's new “Chromebook Plus” partnership program. It offers a solid screen and keyboard, with some bonus AI features, for just $399.
Some Android apps have improved from the mess they once were, others remain a mess, and others have been pulled from the platform altogether. Browsing the Google Play Store still feels a bit like browsing a graveyard, with “Not Available For This...

Zippy processor performance ; Nice keyboard ; A wide array of connectivity options ; Chic design
Battery life isn’t competitive ; The display’s 16:9 aspect ratio feels a little cramped
The Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 is a solid upgrade over the 2023, featuring a faster processor and a touchscreen display, with only minor drawbacks that hardly impact the overall performance.

Graduating to more powerful hardware, the Asus Chromebook Plus CX34 makes a strong case for Google's faster laptops.
