BenQ's new netbook has a big 11.6-inch screen and long battery life
11.6in screen with a 1366x768 resolution, long battery life, large keyboard
Keyboard is bouncy and keys are too stiff, lots of unused chassis space
The Joybook Lite U121 Eco is a good option for anyone who wants a big netbook with long battery life. It has an 11.6in screen and a mostly full-sized keyboard, and a 6-cell battery. However, its build quality could be better and we'd like BenQ to...

BenQ, a name that resonates these days in the realm of monitors and notebooks, mainly due to their consistent improvement over the years. But the market for netbooks is almost dystopian where survival of the fittest is martial law. Thus we just have to...
Verdict and Analysis At an MRP of Rs. 26,750, this model is pricey, no doubt about it. Yes, the keyboard is the top percentile in terms of quality and comfort, but so much premium especially for a slower processor in the form of the Z520, is not...

The Benq Joybook Lite U121 has a 11.6-inch form factor. That means a larger screen, keyboard compared to other 10-inch netbooks.
Large screen ; Keyboard ; Wi-Fi Draft-N ; Battery life
No Gigabit Ethernet
For Rs. 22,990, the Benq Joybook Lite U121 is cheaper than a 10-inch netbook--the HP Mini 110-1018tu we reviewed last month, for example. Yet it offers larger screen and keyboard in comparison, and considerably better battery life. This isn't quite the...

With "Eco" and "Lite" in its name does that mean the U121 is a product with fewer features with a high price for the sake of being branded as environmentally friendly?
Environmentally friendly ; Standard-sized keyboard
Linux version is for start-up purposes only ; Speakers direct sound downwards
Whether you're a business person, eco-conscious or just someone that wants a small netbook that can be relied on, the AU$899 BenQ Joybook Lite U121 Eco with Windows XP is a good choice to make.

With "Eco" and "Lite" in its name does that mean the U121 is a product with fewer features with a high price for the sake of being branded as environmentally friendly?
Environmentally friendly, Standard-sized keyboard
Linux version is for start-up purposes only, Speakers direct sound downwards
Besides our small misgivings of receiving a Linux version for start-up purposes only, the Windows version performed admirably. It's a decent-sized netbook for just under AU$900 that is suitable for anyone on the move.

It's lovely to look at, with a full size keyboard and glorious screen. See why the Benq Joybook Lite U121 is one of the best rated in our latest netbook roundup

BenQ has made an impressive start with its affordable and reliable Joybook Lite U101 netbook. Would the larger and possibly meaner U121 Eco be any better? Let's find out.
Consumer review (cnet.com.au)
I bought the U121 in HK last month and installed MS Office 2007 and PureCodec on this machine. So far so good and it is quick to get online (w/ 802.11n). Long battery life is essential when you are outside your home/office.
Long battery life (>6 hrs), short charging time (2hr10 mins for full charge and 1 hr for 75-80%), comfortable typing (100% full size keyboard), many upgrade options availabe (easy to change RAM size to 2G, e-SATA SSD slot available, sim card slot...
Average performance (1.60 GHz), cannot play 1080p clips under XP (should be OK under Windows 7), sound quality is so-so
