A laptop that looks like it was made for sleuths
Solid, rugged chassis ; Plenty of ports ; Carrying handle
Low-resolution display ; Underpowered ; No dedicated graphics ; Small trackpad
Getac's redesigned S410 could be a formidable outdoor device configured to the hilt, but the entry-level version fails to impressive on account of its low-resolution washed out display and lacklustre power.

Made for outdoor worksites, the sturdy Getac S410 is a rugged laptop that impresses with a powerful Core i7 processor, a screen you can see even in direct sunlight, and all-day battery life.

The Getac S410 semi-rugged laptop is nearly indestructible
Solid performance ; Super bright display ; Rugged and durable ; Extraordinary battery life ; Nice bouncy keyboard ; Good Webcam
Can get pricey ; Tinny audio
The Getac S410 earned its rugged, tough-as-nails reputation as we tried drowning it, shooting it, throwing it, and then it wowed us again with over 24 hours of battery life

base SKU is missing keyboard backlight, webcam, VGA, and other common features ; display backlight could be brighter for base SKU ; pulse-width modulation for brightness control ; trackpad keys have uneven feedback ; more difficult serviceability ;...
The closest competitor to the Getac S410 at the moment is the Panasonic Toughbook CF-54. The Getac is the stronger option if performance is priority because of its faster CPU and GPU options, more rigid display, quieter fans, louder speakers, and...
