Apple MacBook 13in White (MC240B/A)

Now Apple has the 13in MacBook Pro, is it still worth thinking about the white MacBook? We take a look to find out.

Other standard features include Draft-N Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1, as a well as Gigabit Ethernet. You also get Apple's iLife 09 multimedia suite, as has been the case with MacBooks for a long time now, which combined with OS X makes for a thorough and...

Apple MacBook Pro 13in - 2009 Edition (MB990B/A)

We see if the newly refreshed 13in MacBook, now a MacBook Pro, is a discernable improvement over the original.

Non-user replaceable battery aside, it's difficult to find fault with the new 13in MacBook Pro. All the things that made it great in the first place remain, but they've been joined by highly desirable features like the FireWire port, SD card reader and...

Apple MacBook 2.13GHz - 2009 review

Apple's entry-level laptop gets an incremental upgrade

FireWire port retained ; Useful component upgrades ; Affordable MacBook ; iLife '09 preloaded ; Classy as ever

Not a massive step up

A solid, if unremarkable, upgrade for the entry level MacBook

Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch notebook

Apple announced the update to their MacBook line-up in June, and here we have the 13-inch model, which takes on the "Pro" moniker previously applied to its bigger brothers. It is the second iteration of Apple's unibody MacBook and brings with it a few...

Improved battery life, SD card slot, excellent display, excellent design and build quality

USB placement is still too close

The 13-inch MacBook Pro takes an already excellent machine and moves it a step further along. It satisfies the cries of those who last time around lamented the loss of FireWire. In its place we now have a non-replaceable battery, which no doubt will be...

Apple MacBook Pro review (14in with M3 Max, 2023): back in black

Apple's flagship laptop gets even flagshippier, with a fancy new finish and a powerful new chip. Meet the MacBook Pro M3 Max

High-end desktop-grade performance ; New finish looks good ; Excellent battery life ; Slightly brighter SDR content

Loud fan that quite often spins up ; Eye-watering extra RAM/storage pricing ; The notch will aggravate some ; Still no Face ID

Bar a new finish, little has outwardly changed for Apple’s flagship laptop. But the M3 Max keeps the MacBook Pro forging ahead in terms of raw power.

Apple MacBook Pro 13in (Mid-2009) review

Unveiled at Apple's annual Worldwide Developer's Conference, the new 13in MacBook Pro has three new features that were not found in the aluminum MacBooks that have been replaced. First, the new 13in laptops use a longer-lasting, non-removable battery,...

With its lower price, the return of FireWire, longer battery life, better looking display and a new built-in SD Card slot that you can boot from, the newest member of the MacBook Pro makes an impressive debut.

Apple MacBook Summer 2009 (Core 2 Duo 2.13GHz review

While Apple still hasn't put a Netbook on the market, don't fault it for not trying to make its products more affordable. This year's WWDC 2009 keynote was all about lower price points and more features across the MacBook line, and leading off as the...

Good price for the specs, for a Mac; sturdy construction; no graphics compromise.

Older battery doesn't last as long as the new Pros; still no SD card slot or ExpressCard; white MacBook design is getting a little old.

For $999, it's hard to beat this MacBook's nearly MacBook-Pro-level specs if you're in the market for a budget Apple laptop.

Apple Mac Pro Eight-Core/2.26GHz (2009 edition) review

The two tower Apple Mac Pro models pack a brand-new processor and video system, and feature a reorganised internal design. However, they have lower clock speeds than their predecessors.

The new Apple Mac Pros, with their cutting-edge Nehalem processor technology, are able to execute more tasks at a faster clip, despite lower processor speeds. And their new internal design makes adding hard drives, memory cards, and PCI Express 2.0...

Apple MacBook (Early 2009 nVidia) review

When Apple updated its notebook range late last year, the headline news was a move to a unique aluminium unibody construction. These portables made good use of a chassis milled from solid metal, creating a strong shell around which to construct a...

While we have our reservations about the cheapened trackpad and mouse button, the revised Apple MacBook is still a good value laptop with a very impressive balance of capabilities. A new graphics processor raises the game, making the MacBook...

Apple MacBook Pro 2009 (2.66GHz review

Editors' note: As of June 2009, the product reviewed here has been replaced by an updated model .

New aluminum unibody construction comes to the 17-inch model; useful multitouch trackpad gestures; attractive edge-to-edge glass on display; dual graphics provide more power or more battery life.

All-clicking trackpad is a bit awkward; matte screen option costs extra; switching GPUs is not as seamless as it should be.

A little late to the party, Apple's redesigned 17-inch MacBook Pro joins the 15-inch model with a redesigned aluminum body, new trackpad with expanded functionality, and a dual-graphics setup for either longer battery life or better performance.
