YouTube TV review: A reasonably priced cable TV alternative

YouTube TV is easy to use, available on every platform and offers a strong channel lineup.

If you want live TV at a reasonable price, YouTube TV may be your best bet.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K review

Future-proofed video streamer supports 4K and advanced HDR and has Alexa voice control

Excellent 4K and HD visuals. \ Wide range of apps and 'channels' means access to a huge range of free, subscription and pay-to-view stuff to watch. \ Support for Dolby Vision, HDR 10+ and Atmos means it seems pretty future-proofed. \ Voice control and the

The sheer volume of stuff to watch makes it inevitably unwieldy. \ There's very little so far that actually plays back with Dolby Vision, HDR10+ or Atmos

With support for 4K, with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ and even Dolby Atmos audio, this inexpensive, voice controlled video streamer is one of the tech bargains of the year

Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote review: The best media player under £40?

An HDMI dongle that brings all the Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and BBC iPlayer wonder to your telly. Plus there's a new Alexa voice-control remote.">

Alexa support on a TV device Quick at accessing content Great contextual text and voice search Good picture quality Excellent app integration and availability Doesn't require Echo to work

Few TV USBs will power it so you need to use the adapter. Many smart TVs offer access to all these apps and services anyway (minus the Alexa voice control)

For a penny shy of £40, you really can't go wrong with the Amazon Fire TV Stick. Alexa looks like she's on cue to rule the world... And if you want 4K and HDR then there's an alternative, pricier Stick available for you.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K review

Amazon's streaming stick game is strong, and the Fire TV Streaming Stick 4K is no exception. A few minor issues aside, this fully loaded streaming device offers virtually everything you could want, including Dolby Vision HDR, Amazon Alexa, basic TV...

Speedy operation ; HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support ; Top-notch voice control ; Basic TV controls on remote ; Alexa keeps getting better

Somewhat awkward design ; Voice search still needs work

Amazon’s new Fire TV Stick is loaded to the gills with features, and while we had a few initial hiccups in operation, it offers some of the best value for your money — especially if you’re partial to Amazon’s handy Alexa ecosystem.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K

With 4K HDR, Amazon Alexa, and very peppy performance, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is the best media streamer you can buy for under $50.

Affordable. Supports 4K with HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Amazon Alexa. Quick Wi-Fi streaming and menu navigation.

No Google Play apps. Ethernet adapter not included.

Bottom Line: With 4K HDR, Amazon Alexa, and very peppy performance, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K is the best media streamer you can buy for under $50.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K: Voice and streaming extras for less

With 4K HDR streaming, Dolby Vision and all the voice goodness of Alexa, does Amazon's new streamer poses a real threat to Roku?

Better streaming format support than anything in its price range. Voice features are best-in-class, and Echo and Dot owners can control it with Alexa. Its app and game selection is superb, responses are lightning fast and video quality is as good as...

The user interface pushes Amazon content too aggressively. The selection of 4K, HDR and Dolby Vision TV shows and movies is worse than on Apple TV 4K or Roku.

It flogs Amazon content too much to beat Roku, but for Alexa fans or 4K HDR TV owners who insist on Dolby Vision, the Fire TV 4K Stick is a great value.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K review: This is the media streamer to beat

Amazon's new Fire TV Stick sheds past mistakes and streams 4K HDR video at an unbeatable price.

Impressive performance at a low price ; Broad HDR format support, plus HDR menus and SDR-to-HDR conversion ; Increasingly useful Alexa voice controls

The menu system is still too bloated ; Genre searches are Alexa's weak spot ; No support for YouTube TV, our favorite live TV streaming service

As with previous Fire TV devices, the Fire TV Stick 4K’s menu system is both its biggest downside and its greatest source of potential.
