Optima MyPC Media Center

As well as running regular Windows apps, this Media Center PCs allows you to manage digital pictures, music files, TV, and video via remote control.

Decent specification for a mid-range home PC ; Strong application performance

Inappropriate for the Media Center's intended environment, the living room ; Lacking in audio and video outputs

If you're looking for a Media Center for the living room so you can enjoy the TV, DVD, music, slideshow and Internet features, then it's definitely worth waiting to see what the next generation of PCs from Optima and other vendors have to offer.

Optima MyPC Media Center

Windows Media Center Edition (MCE) 2005 was launched with quite a bit of fanfare late last year, and not least of all because it was the first time in its 18 month life Australians could buy systems based on the OS.

It has a great "standard advanced" feel to it, what with its okay monitor, 5 speakers, subwoofer, wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, wireless remote, wireless controller, and semi-good computer (Just throw in 4 wireless gamepads and an internet...

Great setup and accessible designs for anyone to work on it

but it has some serious hdd problems too

Anyone who purchased early - paid too much. Now is the time to buy. I just purchased this system and it's a beaut. Highly recommend it.
