A new chip and some AI additions makes the Samsung Galaxy S25+ a below average annual update amongst fiercely competitive rivals
Consistently great performance and decent battery life ; AI efforts feel more thought-out this year ; Camera trio can snap a nice photo
New chipset the only real upgrade ; Last year’s model now a lot cheaper ; Rivals do more for the money
Minimal changes and flagship pricing make the Galaxy S25+ tough to recommend for anyone except Samsung die-hards wanting a big screen without the Ultra’s extras.

Spigen's latest and greatest brings magnetic charging and advanced protection to the Galaxy S25, without compromising on style or value

Opinion: maybe the S stands for stagnant. The Galaxy S25 Ultra cares more about AI additions than impressing with new hardware

New phones are great but you want to keep them clean and shiny for as long as you can after you take them out of the box especially when you are spending

Ultra vs. Ultra, the very obvious working title of this one was. The Galaxy S21 Ultra marks the third iteration in Samsung's pursuit of the ultimate...

Technically sound, Samsung's latest Android phones are a bit of a snooze.
Better thermals for improved performance when gaming. Great display, cameras, and solid battery life. Seven years of software updates.
Two different smart assistants is confusing. New AI features are boring. Not much that’s new. Qi2 implementation is annoying.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is a great phone, but it doesn't feel as special as it once did — and Galaxy AI is still a work in progress.

Samsung's new phones deliver on cameras and battery life, but AI is finally finding its footing, too.
Camera consistently delivers good images ; Impressive battery life ; More AI features feel practical ; Lightning fast charging ; Nice big screen ; 7 years of OS and security upgrades ; Great performance
Still some stray gimmicky AI features ; Not many changes over the S24 ; Battery life is similar to the baseline S25 ; Similar specs as the S25, at a higher price ; Better cameras on other phones at the same price

Samsung calls this phone Ultra because everything is supposed to be ultra. But the regular S25 and S25 Plus have a lot of its best specs and features and cost much less.
Best screen on any phone ; Versatile cameras ; Most powerful phone I've tested ; Good battery life
$1,300 price ; Design is almost too minimal ; AI features are hit-or-miss ; S25/S25 Plus have similar features and cost less

You're probably better off saving the money by going with the standard Galaxy S25
More helpful Galaxy AI features ; Powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite performance ; Capable cameras ; Thinner, lighter design
Battery life could be better ; Dimmer screen
The Galaxy S25 Plus is a tougher sell given how it shares the same set of Galaxy AI features and cameras found on the cheaper S25 model. It's a powerful, big-screen phone, but it's hampered by a dimmer display and modest battery life improvements over...
