Moto has made a speciality of mid-range smartphones at a reasonable price. We were very impressed with last year's Moto G7 Power, so can its sequel compare?
Massive battery;Reasonable price;Good camera;Decent screen
Poor screen;Takes a while to charge

The Moto G8 Power packs a huge 5,000mAh battery and a trio of rear cameras, but it's the refined flagship-like design that makes this the best G-series phone we've ever seen.
Extensive 5,000mAh battery Triple rear cameras Flagship-like looks
Lacks telephoto lens Frustrating fingerprint sensor 64GB storage is limited
The Moto G8 Power is a solid budget phone that performs better than its price would suggest. Motorola has added more cameras, and refined its look to mimic the flourishes of flagship smartphones, including smaller bezels and a punch-hole in the display...

If you want a long-lasting phone that doesn't cost a fortune, Motorola makes one of the most compelling options on the market.
Epic battery life is class-leading ; Capable of multiple apps performance - including gaming ; Smooth software adds genuinely useful Moto features ; Minimal bezel design impressive at this price
Pricier than predecessor - largely for sake of multiple cameras ; Chunky build ; Slow Wi-Fi connectivity ; No NFC for Google Pay ; So-so additional cameras
If you're shopping on a budget: the Moto G8 Power is the class-leading affordable phone with an immense battery. It improves upon the G7 in most departments - screen, design, storage - with its only real lackings being no NFC and slow Wi-Fi.

The Moto G8 Power might not look like much, but its 5000mAh battery will last for days, which helps offset a dull design and mixed camera performance.

Another bargain battery behemoth?
Stereo speakers ; Good battery life ; Stock Android 10
No NFC ; Camera struggles in low lighting ; G8 Plus a better overall package
While the Moto G8 Power isn’t quite as impressive or affordable as its predecessor, and somewhat eclipsed by the G8 Plus, it’s still well worth considering if battery life is a priority.

Sturdy, water-repellant design
The performance is behind the curve
The G8 Power has a large battery and a nice screen but these are no longer enough to make for a truly compelling smartphone offer. What we miss here is more fluid performance and better camera image quality. In their current implementation, they are...

After the Moto G8 Plus, the Moto G8 Power is the second Motorola smartphone in the classic G series. Will the G8 Power become a permanent fixture again?
For the time being, the Moto G8 Power makes a very good impression, as it is a very persistent Android smartphone for under €250. So the job is kind of done here. The Moto G8 Power has to prove in real-life test now that it not only runs and runs, but...
