Samsung's new mid-range champ
Modern Samsung Galaxy aesthetics ; Nice camera system improvements ; Superb long-term software support
Price hike in the UK versus A53 ; A little thick and heavy ; No wireless charging
The cornerstone of Samsung's 2023 Galaxy A-series mid-rangers packs in some nice upgrades over its predecessor, but battery life claims fall short of what’s promised, and more powerful phones can be had for the same price or less.

A return to form for Samsung's sensibly-priced A-series. The Galaxy A54 5G is a great alternative to the S23
Great-looking screen ; Capable camera system ; IP67 water resistance
Clunky styling ; No RAW photo capture ; No wireless charging
The A54 5G is a great shout for anyone who can’t justify S23 prices but still wants Samsung’s latest smarts

Familiar styling, only at a more palatable price - the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 look like value-minded alternatives to Samsung's flagships

The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G isn't a flagship phone, but it has impressive specs for a model in Samsung's A-range phone. Will you get bang for your buck or is it worth avoiding? Find out in our full review of this phone.

It may not be the fastest in its turf, but the Galaxy A54 is a great all-rounder in the midrange phone category.
120Hz refresh rate on a 1080p Super AMOLED display ; Decent imaging ; Long support for OS and security updates ; IP67 rating against water and dust ; MicroSD card slot (shared with second SIM slot)
Better options out there for performance and features ; Limited to 25W wired charging ; No wireless charging
TL;DR: We think Samsung feared having the Galaxy A54 5G annihilate its competition, so it used an entry-level Exynos chipset to even the playing field.

We review the Galaxy A54 in the Philippines, and see if Samsung has made solid choices for its upper mid-range offering.

The Galaxy A54 is colorful in more ways than one, and in our extensive review, we find out if it's the phone to buy — or if it's worth spending a little extra.
Eye-catching colors It looks like the Galaxy S23 Colorful screen Speakers sound good Long software commitment
Battery doesn't last two days No wireless charging Camera lacks realism
“The Samsung Galaxy A54's colorful design and screen are matched by the colorful photos it takes, and while it's a sensible, good-value buy, it's let down by disappointing battery life.”

Same, but different (but mostly same) - the Galaxy A54 is proof that you don't make changes to a winning formula. Or that's how Samsung sees it, at least....
Design makes it look like the flagship, IP67 rating is rare in the midrange.
No charger in the box.
All things considered, we're quite liking the Galaxy A54. It's a meaningful generational improvement and a competent midrange package. Maybe not at MSRP - but give it a couple of months, and its price should be much more palatable.

The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G is an affordable phone that doesn't skimp on quality or features, making it an appealing alternative to pricey flagships.

The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G seems to be a nice balance of price and value -- but are its included carrier apps at the system level a dealbreaker?
A bright and beautiful display ; Years of software support ; Good day-to-day performance ; Lasts all day on a single charge
It can get a bit warm ; No wireless charging ; Lots of preinstalled bloatware
