Samsung's affordable Monte boasts a capacitive touchscreen and many social networking features.
Good range of widgets, Impressive sound quality, Easy to use
Plastic-looking silver edges, No support for multi-touch, Lacks full onscreen QWERTY keyboard

The Samsung Monte has the looks and the specs, but does it have the brains?
Great design ; Good battery life ; Surprisingly good camera ; Lots of connectivity options ; Strong, fast 3G coverage
Laggy touch controls ; Slow software ; Browser crashes regularly ; Some confusing UI design ; No social integration with contacts
Samsung's touchscreen mobile phone onslaught shows no sign on stopping, with the Monte arriving on the heels of the Samsung Genio Touch, Genio Slide and Galaxy Portal.

The Samsung Monte offers a full-fledged suite of connectivity options including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and even GPS. We can't emphasize how great it is to finally see an inexpensive mobile phone that doesn't compromise on features.

A feature list that belies its appealing price tag, including a capacitive touch-screen of a calibre rarely found at this price point
Though it looks high-end from afar, upon closer inspection the Monte?s build does feel a little flimsy

Here we arrive at the end of my review of the S5620 Monte, and although it has some bad points it has made quite an impression on me, so much so that I saw myself using it to text instead of my own phone. My overall opinion of the handset is mixed...

The Monte from Samsung is one of an increasing number of mid- to low-end touchscreen handsets. It looks quite good at first glance, but in fact, when you start to get under the hood, the Monte ...
The Samsung Monte doesn't do anything that is different or special. It is attractively priced, but you should expect basic rather than expansive usability from it.

With the new iPhone having just been released, and the constantly growing abundance of Android phones on the market, for those looking for a new phone it can be irritatingly complex trying to choose the right one. There are some which are fairly...
So, a vast collection of applications, the majority of which centred around social networking, the Samsung Monte (S5620) is very much a contender in the mobile phone market. You can buy the phone (sim-free) for under £150 from Amazon, a bargain when...
