Cowon's iAudio 9 is a nippy little MP3 player that does much right - unfortunately, pitted against the Apple iPod nano it just doesn't shine

Smooth touchscreen interface ; slim, small device ; smart menus ; FM radio recording

AV performance is bettered elsewhere ; control buttons on sides are a little fussy ; only accepts low-res video

This Cowon doesn’t do too much wrong – and wins plaudits for its new interface – but we find it hard to recommend with the nano in mind

A clunky touch interface and some unintuitive menus leave this far behind the iPod nano.

We're unimpressed with the Cowon iAudio 9. For £99 inc VAT for 8GB we'd expect something that at least comes close to the ease of use of the iPod nano, and with an 8GB version of that available for only £20 more we just can't see any reason to shell...

Sleek looking MP3 player from Cowon with touchpad controls. It has great set of features, excellent sound but quirky controls

The Cowon iAudio 9 is one of the best budget MP3 players. It comes with a lot of features like an FM radio, voice recording, and video playback. It also combines excellent audio quality with a stylish design.
