Can Cowon maintain its reputation as the brand of choice for audiophiles?
Expert review by : tech.co.uk staff (techradar.com)
Plenty to like in a compact package
Great performance ; Lots of features
Fiddly stylus ; Picky with WMV files
With truly outstanding audio, rare features and terrific touchscreen technology, the iAudio D2 offers excellent value

Some nice touches better but there are younger faster models out there.
Decent music and movie performance ; very portable ; impressive battery life
Screen is small, poor off-axis and prone to smudging ; fiddly menu system
The Cowon is a decent player, but recent rivals offer more

We've read some good things about Cowon players and had high expectations of the Cowon iAudio D2 DMB. Other reviewers had raved about the audio quality and, with DAB digital radio on top, we expected a real aural treat.
Should DMB television broadcasts come to the UK any time soon, gadgets such as the Cowon iAudio D2 DMB could be pretty hot stuff. As it is, the less than impressive screen and lack of a decent aerial count against the Cowon iAudio D2 DMB.

We've tested two portable media players - the Cowon D2 and the Archos 704 WiFi - that enable you to enjoy music, photos and videos wherever you go. Both have touchscreens to simplify navigation, but that's where the similarities end. Given their...
In this way, Cowon's device fails to live up to the "portable multimedia player" label engraved on its case. The D2 is an expensive flash audio player that flirts with multimedia, but ultimately will appeal only to people enchanted by the novelty of...

Cowon's iAudio gang has been bolstered by the arrival of a tiny video powerhouse called the D2. Can it take the iRiver U10 to Chinatown?
An astoundingly versatile little player and a genuine threat for the iRiver U10. Only some poor design choices and compatibility issues hold it back from pocket domination

We looked at the original Cowon D2 some while back and concluded that it was a well designed, useful, touch-screen-driven pocket media player, but wondered whether it had enough memory, at a maximum of 4GB. Things ...
The D2+ DAB has just about all the facilities you could want in a pocket media player. While the screen is still a bit small for long-term video viewing, it's fine for music videos and could be used for movies at a pinch. The player's real strength is...

A good, if chunky, audio and video player with a nod to the audiophile.
The touchscreen works well, especially if you don't mind using the stylus, and the video playback is a useful bonus, but not really a prime function. However, if you're after a pocket player, which excels at sound reproduction, includes a DAB radio and...
