The HP DreamScreen 100 offers more than your average digital photo frame, but the features aren't enough to justify its high price.

HP claims that it plans to provide support for more applications, so hopefully we can look forward to seeing the integration of Flickr, Shutterfly and more. And it would be especially cool if future updates include some sort of browser to allow for RSS...

The HP DreamScreen melds photos, music, videos, and more into an affordable Internet-connected display designed for the home.

Video support is mediocre; the Facebook app doesn't work; set-up is a chore; performance is sluggish; software is PC-only; lacks news feed viewer and support for photo services beyond HP's own Snapfish.

The HP DreamScreen is a decent a photo frame and Pandora Internet radio, but it's weighed down by several lukewarm features and an interface that demands patience.

HP DreamScreen 100

HP's new DreamScreen 100 is a good-looking and well-connected digital photo frame, but its held back by a sluggish interface.

Sexy design. Good image quality. Intuitive user interface. Simple network configuration.

Pricey. UI is very sluggish. Limited video playback support. Computer-to-frame networking software does not support Macs.
