The $500 Konica Minolta MagiColor 2430DL performed at roughly average speeds, and has a low estimated cost per color page. It produced text pages at 13.0 ppm and color graphics at 2.7 ppm, which was substantially slower than the speeds of the less...
Low cost per color page ; Direct-print (PictBridge) port
Photos looked yellowish
In addition, the 2430DL includes an unusual feature for a color laser printer: a port on its front panel for printing photos from PictBridge-compatible digital cameras. However, the standard configuration, which we tested, prints only in draft mode;...

The Konica Minolta magicolor 5440 DL delivers top-quality text and photos along with reasonable-quality color graphics, all at high speed and with ample paper capacity.
Fast performance. Quality is among the best for text and photos (for a color laser). Ample 600-sheet paper capacity, expandable to 1,600 sheets.
Graphics quality is only middling for color lasers. The optional duplexer raises the price by nearly a third.

Laser printing and photos don't mix as badly as oil and water, but they don't go hand in hand either. The Konica Minolta magicolor 2430DL ($499 direct) challenges this perception, offering PictBridge supportso you can print directly from your...
Quality ranges from just shy of very good for graphics and photos to excellent for text. Fast performance for the price and four-pass design. PictBridge support
The optional duplexer and second paper drawer more than double the price, to $1,200
The Konica Minolta magicolor 2430DL offers good performance and quality for text and graphics. It also lays claim to being a personal photo color laser by virtue of its $500 price, PictBridge support, and photo quality that's as good as we've seen from...

The magicolor 2430 DL has a reasonable price tag and low per-page printing costs, making it a good choice for home and home office users on a limited budget, but its skimpy 200-sheet paper input tray is a notable shortcoming.

Trying to decide if your next printer should be a laser or an inkjet? Ars looks at an inexpensive, multiplatform networkable color laser printer from Konica Minolta to see if it's worth the extra cost.
Expert review by : James Galbraith (macworld.com)
With an attractive low price, accurate and saturated color prints, and unique features like PictBridge camera printing, the Magicolor 2430DL could be a great buy for a home or small workgroup.
Inexpensive ; accurate color ; PictBridge camera port
Noisy ; no PostScript
Setting up the printer was fairly straightforward, but the process could use a bit of finessing. The toner cartridges are pre-installed, and all you need to do is remove some tape and clips that are hard to miss. Then, turn the printer on, hook up an...

Following that 4:1 ratio of monochrome to color printouts, we reached for our calculator and guesstimated that 45,000 pages -- 36,000 black and 9,000 color -- would cost $1,527 in consumables (not counting paper), or 2.1 cents per black and 8.6 cents...
