Lexmark produces another all-in-one device, this time with integrated FAX functionality.

The name Lexmark is not usually top of the agenda when discussing brands associated with high-quality inkjet printers, so its latest MFD (multifunction device) – the X5470 – came as something of a surprise.
The Lexmark X5470 is a winner when it comes to build quality and simple, functional design. It's just a shame that print quality and speed aren't up to par with the rest of its features – otherwise we'd have had a genuinely top-notch MFD on our hands.

These days, office workgroup printers need to be not just fast, but smart and secure too, as well as capable of producing great quality. We see if the Lexmark X736de is up to the task.
A versatile colour laser multifunction made particularly easy to use through a well-designed and flexible colour touchscreen. While there’s plenty of input flexibility, there's no output expansion. Duplex print, copy and scan, plus full fax facilities...

If you're in the market for an affordable all-in-one, take a look at the X5470.
Built-in colour fax, inexpensive, automatic document feeder, included media card reader
Must swap cartridges for photo printing, no individual ink cartridges, no preview LCD, software is inflexible, slow, lines appear in some images
The Lexmark X5470 is an easy-to-use multifunction printer made for the budget conscious it's cheap to run as well as buy. However, its lack of advanced controls, low-resolution scans, and sluggish print speeds will have the wealthier, pickier...

Lexmark has a range of rather blocky-looking all-in-one devices, with the X5470 fitting some way up from the bottom. To prove this, it includes memory card slots, fax facilities and an Auto Document Feeder (ADF). Its ...
The X5470 is a neat little all-in-one machine at a very reasonable price. Its clever ADF, memory card slots and neatly-arranged control panel add value. While the print quality isn't the best we've seen, the device is cheap to run and for many purposes...

If you're in the multi-function device market, and after a means to print photographs from your digital camera, the X5470 boasts a feature set worth looking at.
Built-in fax transmission and reception, international connectivity and power accessories, OCR software, PictBridge support, waterproof inks.
No LCD photo preview, sticky black inks, light-weight construction,
In spite of the flaws, the X5470 is a reasonable budget choice for a small office that needs occasional photo prints and copies. The one-year warranty includes a handy next-day replacement. It's not recommended for more serious photography or heavy...

First impressions are often correct. As such, a quick glance through the Lexmark's C5470 impressive-looking feature list and specifications might have you scurrying for your credit card.
Clever paper auto-sensing, It is cheap
Wonky printing, Smudging, Poor photo quality prints, Slow print speeds
Its features are the selling point but the overall quality lets it down

Lexmark's budget multi-function device includes a fax and an automatic document feeder.
Low price, built-in fax and automatic document feed
Slow photo printing, mediocre overall print quality
If you need a cheap combination of printer, scanner, fax, and copier for a home office in which speed and quality are of no concern, the Lexmark X5470 could be a good choice. But if you need to make a good impression, consider spending a little more...

The Lexmark X5470 cuts some corners to achieve its exceptionally low $100 price tag (as of 10/25/06), but it still packs a remarkable set of features for the money. It has a 33.6-kilobits-per-second color fax capability and an automatic document feeder...
Low price ; Built-in fax and automatic document feed
Slow photo printing ; Mediocre overall print quality
If you need a cheap combination of printer, scanner, fax, and copier for a home office in which speed and quality are of no concern, the Lexmark X5470 could be a good choice. But if you need to make a good impression, consider spending a little more money

An inkjet multifunction printer sounds like an expensive piece of equipment, but these days, you can bring one home for a measly $100. The Lexmark X5470 is one such printer, combining printer, scanner, fax, and copier into one useful device. It lacks...
Inexpensive; nice range of features; built-in memory card slots and PictBridge port; fast text prints; decent scan quality; built-in ADF.
Poor to mediocre print quality; slow copy speed; very limited paper handling options.
The Lexmark X5470 offers loads of features and respectable print speeds at a low price, but its print quality leaves a lot to be desired. You can find a similarly priced all-in-one that offers better print quality.
