This budget projector ensures you don't need a big room to enjoy decent home cinema.
Awesome value ; Short-throw lens is a great addition to the projector market ; Surprisingly good all-round picture quality
Very minor rainbow effect ; No vertical image shift ; Dark 3D scenes lack a little depth
Connections include two HDMIs, in addition to which the W1080ST also delivers 3D via the DLP Link system. It promises to do so very punchily too, thanks to a claimed brightness of 2000 ANSI Lumens. The only pity is that you don’t get any 3D glasses...

A sharp and exciting picture that's great for a compact home cinema room
Bright, clear picture ; Punchy highlights ; Deep, subtle blacks ; Good detail ; Easy to set up
Colours could be subtler ; 3D glasses not included
There’s plenty to like about the BenQ W1080ST. Its bright, sharp picture is exciting to watch, and the colours are certainly eye-catching (if sometimes a little too vivid).

Meet the BenQ Q1080ST, a full HD DLP projector that lets you bring the cinema experience to your living room, even if space is at a premium. Its short throw range and variety of connections promise to let you hook up almost anything you own, but does...
BenQ has crafted a versatile projector that's capable of beaming almost anything you can hook up at a short range, and at a high quality too. If you get excited for movie nights at home, the W1080ST could be the perfect addition to watching your...

Excellent greyscale performance, Impressive motion handling, Decent video processing, Great 3D performance, Useful if space is limited, Bright images, Price
Mediocre Blacks, Limited shadow detail, Rainbow artefacts, Fans and colour wheel are noisy, No lens shift
If you've often dreamed of big screen action but thought your room was too small to accommodate such pleasures, the BenQ W1080ST could well be the answer to your prayers. This small and attractively priced projector can deliver big images from only a...

The ; offers a very good image for the price with relatively deep blacks and faithful color; short throw allows placement close to the screen, on a coffee table for example; onboard speaker; decent 3D performance.
Limited setup options with no manual lens shift; old 3D system; no 3D glasses in package and cost $99 extra.
The BenQ W1080ST short-throw DLP projector offers very good performance and extra placement flexibility, but the long-throw W1070 is a better deal.

The BenQ W1080ST 3D home entertainment projector offers a short throw, high-quality 1080p video, and 3D, plus it's bright enough to let you leave the lights on.

When it comes to HD projectors catering to the home-entertainment market, you don't have to look too far beyond BenQ. They have recently developed a knack for producing HD projectors that don't look it. They are small, relatively slim but under that...
REMOTE CONTROL This remote might not be the prettiest looking controller we’ve set eyes on but it does its job relatively well. It is on the smaller and slimmer side, so misplacing it easily can’t be ruled out. Buttons protrude too much from the...

BenQ W1080ST Projector Hands-on Review, it's the short-throw technology, full HD and the 3D support, Price: Rs. 1,10,000
• Easy Setup ; • Supports multiple forms of 3D ; • Good Color Reproduction in 2D/3D
• Produces a lot of hot air ; • Wish there were more connectivity options
TheBenQ W1080ST is indeed a value for money projector. It works exceptionally well with 2D content and average with 3D, if that doesn’t turn you off then this is it! If this projector fits in your budget, we recommend you to go or it.

The BenQ W1080ST review is posted, but not quite complete. The Competitors page has yet to be written, and more images and a few more comments will be added elsewhere in this home entertainment projector review.
Offers unusual short throw lens, sits about half the distance from the screen as most others, great for people to not walk through the image ; One of the brightest 2D and 3D projectors (calibrated) that we've reviewed under $2,000 ; For those rainbow...
Biggest nuisance is the lack of a working Color Saturation control when the source is HDMI ; Black level performance is good for the price but no match for serious "ultra high contrast" projectors ; 3D glasses could really be lighter and more...
I found the BenQ W1080ST home entertainment projector to be just like its slightly less expensive sibling the W1070. Let's get this straight - they are essentially the same projector.
