Not Sand Proof

 

First I would like to point out that I bought this camera at Blacks Photography, not Newegg, but thought that everyone should be aware of the sand issue. It was a nice camera and worked well until a shallow sand infested wave touched it. Now it is junk.

Warranty process requires many things, just got other brand

A lot of features for a low price

Broke after 2 months of normal useage with no entry of water or other damage, just stop working after one day of dry usage

Found that the camera takes great pictures, have taken it on several snorkeling and boating trips, worked brilliantly. For a compact point and shoot, it performed as advertised.

The viewing window on the rear of the camera is not protected in any way, and after several vacation trips, this glass is showing wear, scratch marks and possible deterioration. This hasn't affected the quality of the photos, but is noticeable when...

IF you want clear high quality still pictures look for another camera.

The fact that it's water proof. can take it out to the lake or even in the rain w/o worry. And takes clear video.
