User-friendly, built-in DVD player, high-throw ratio lens, fast power/cool down
Fan operation is quite audible, native resolution of just 480p
A perfect coffee table companion

Optoma MovieTime DV10
All-in-one home theater with built-in DVD player and speakers; relatively compact; fairly deep blacks; solid video processing with 2:3 pull-down.
Setting it up on a coffee table isn't as easy as it should be; so-so color decoding; dual menu system takes some getting used to.
Though a tad pricier than we would have liked, the Optoma MovieTime DV10 does a good job delivering an all-in-one home-theater experience.

Recessed s-video input incompatible with some premium A/V cables ; See the Optoma MovieTime DV10 in Action

A portable all-in-one DVD player and projector with excellent image quality.
Excellent images ; Integrated DVD ; Optical audio output
Complicated menu system ; Gets hot during operation ; Noisy DVD player ; Cannot display full resolution HD
Also, the device gets very hot after extensive use and the DVD player can run a bit noisy sometimes, especially during quiet sequences in a film. Finally, the built-in speakers were loud enough to fill a small room but deteriorated in quality when the...

Home theater-in-a-projector displays beautiful DVD images and projects Macs, too
Stunning widescreen DVD picture, easy set-up, loud built-in speakers.
No picture-in-picture, no headphone output, USB connector not used for remote mouse operation, only average image quality from external sources.
Subwoofer or 5.1 speaker system with optical audio connection, minijack-to-RCA cable for connecting Mac audio

To make the long story short, this is a great projector if you don't want to delve into the technicalities of installation. Besides, having a 2 in 1 combo is always a nice plus!

Of course performance is the key and we'll look at that in the Projector Performance section
Great image quality for an entry level projector ; True 16:9 Aspect ratio (unlike HP's all-in-one) ; Unique "all-in-one" portability ; Decent built in sound from 2 5 watt speakers ; Optional small subwoofer ; DVD player built in ; A easy to learn...
Image bows slightly in the top center ; Lens shift is extreme - putting the projector either on the floor or just off the floor, for normal viewing height (this also causes the bowing mentioned above) ; Zoom adjust defocuses lens (minor) ; Sound could...
Sound is decent, actually pretty good in small rooms, but I would definitely recommend the small optional subwoofer, which will give your movies that kick that today's special effects call for. Budget tight - start without the sub, and add it later if...
