Onkyo's TX-NR535 receiver offers decent home theater performance and a useful number of streaming features, but better sound quality can be had for the price.
The Onkyo TX-NR535 offers home-theater thrills in an affordable package; Onkyo's Bluetooth and streaming features are still uncommon at this level; six HDMI 2.0 inputs are very much welcomed.
Music can sound a little thin and shouty compared to competitors; Bluetooth streaming sounds poor; user interface is lost in the text dark ages; remote control could be simpler to use.
Onkyo's TX-NR535 receiver offers decent home-theater performance and a useful number of streaming features, but it's not the last word on value.

The Onkyo TX-NR535 AV Receiver offers Built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and features Onkyo's new proprietary AccuEQ Room Calibration system
Modern receivers have a very tough job as customers demand more and more features every year, but still want them to have a good amplifier and preamp section, along with a good DAC which will deliver great audio quality. Trying to bundle all of the...

Consumer review (cnet.com)
i recently started having audio problems with the 2010 version of this receiver, so I needed to replace it. This receiver is very similar to my old one in terms of controls, inputs, outputs etc. So I decided that it would be easiest just to get this...
Actual front panel controls, straightforward config, auto balancing on surround sound setup, good sound, lots of inputs
TV onscreen interface is equivalent to DOS 3.0 or Windows 3.1 - yikes. More Network Apps would be nice.
Consumer review (cnet.com)
I got this receiver to replace an older Yamaha and could not be happier. Out of the box the Onkyo TX-NR535 is easy to set up. Using the provided stickers I could easily tag the speaker wires and clip them in. Turn it on and plug in the calibration mic...
Easy set up and great sound
cannot rename HDMI inputs and Bluetooth annoying issue
Consumer review (newegg.com)
Be afraid if you are not a geek and want several years of reliable service.
Sounded great out of the box.
Complicated set up. Internet interface is square wheels on a Porsche. Up and puked no sound after 18 months. No customer service from Onkyo local. To much to ship for diagnostic. Video still works but no sound.

FIX THE REMOTE
This a very nice unit , it sounds pretty good , lots of inputs & outputs
I had to take 1 egg off because of the remote , it only works half or less than half of the time , sometime you can turn the unit on with the remote but the rest of the time you have to turn it on by pushing the power button
