Yamaha RX-V379 review

Home theater receivers are becoming increasingly complicated as new audio and video standards are constantly cropping up. Sorting out what you need and what you don't can be difficult, and getting back to basics can not only save you money but counter...

The Yamaha RX-V379 provides solid sound quality, with features such as 4K and 3D pass-through, 100 watts per channel, Bluetooth, four HDMI inputs, and auto speaker setup and calibration, all for an affordable price.

Rather than use sturdy speaker wire binding posts, the Yamaha RX-V379 has less-secure spring clip connectors for three of the five channels. Bluetooth setup is difficult.

Unless you have a huge home theater or tough-to-drive speakers, the Yamaha RX-V379's combination of useful features and solid performance may be all you need.

Bad HDMI - out

I have just ordered a Pioneer to give that a try. Tried to contact yamaha, but did not get a response.

depends on the features and the Price

I would not recommend any Yamaha unit without an extended warranty plan... The Video out DO NOT LAST. I have two Yamaha AV receivers and both were sent back for the Video out. Got sound but both units stopped sending out video. Warranty took care of it...
