Great radio, but the volume is not consistant. Some transmisions are week, volume must be turned up, then is too loud and must be turned down, not like other scanners I have.

Go to any radio shack and they will program your local county at NO CHARGE! If you decide to do it on your own then go to [@]and you can get just about any frequency you want, but it is a bit difficult at first to learn how to program yourself!
