It rings a bell, but looks sufficiently different
Works with Apple Homekit, Google Assistant and Alexa ; Stores Homekit Secure Video to Apple iCloud (with an iCloud subscription) ; Included chime repeater improves battery life ; Can be hard-wired to a suitable existing doorbell power supply
Supplied batteries are not rechargeable ; Local HomeKit Secure Video storage requires additional purchases ; Camera’s field of view is limited ; Only has IPX3 rating
Smart doorbells that work with Apple HomeKit straight out of the box are pretty thin on the ground and almost all of them have drawbacks. The recently released Aqara video doorbell G4 offers a stylish alternative that takes a different approach and...

Aqara Smart Video Doorbell G4 is a jack of all trades, but is it a master of any of them? We spent some time testing it to find out.
Good quality video ; Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit support ; Free cloud storage, with support for local storage
Bulky design ; Inconsistent motion alerts ; Some connection and reliability issues ; Only IPX3 rated

A microSD card is the only thing you'll need to get the full value from this doorbell camera—unless you also want the benefits of Apple's HomeKit Secure Video.
Tons of features ; Broad third-party ecosystem support, HomeKit in particular ; No subscription required (unless you want HomeKit Secure Video)
Very short video recordings—12 second max ; 1080p resolution is relatively low these days ; Many buyers will find it’s not sufficiently weatherized
This video doorbell checks off a lot of boxes, but a couple of glaring oversights relegate it to a second-tier product.

The all-new Aqara G4 Video Doorbell stands out from a crowded market not just because of its affordable price but by being the only battery-powered model to support HomeKit Secure Video.
