What's new and different about the Ring Video Doorbell 4? The company has an overcrowded lineup, but don't be too quick to dismiss this latest video doorbell.
Easy to install ; Durable build quality ; Excellent night vision ; Accurate motion alerts ; Feature-rich
Need subscription for full features ; Only minor changes over previous model ; No Alexa Greetings feature
“Detailed video, extra long battery life, and other convenience features make this a top contender.”

The Ring Video Doorbell 4 is a wireless dual-band model that delivers sharp 1080p capture, color Pre-Roll video, and works with other smart devices.

You'll need a subscription to get all the features, but the long list of them justifies that cost.
Runs on either AC or battery power ; Color pre-roll video captures activity before the motion sensor is triggered ; People-only detection works as advertised ; Strong ties the rest of the Ring smart home ecosystem
Still a plus-sized device ; Short list of entirely new features ; Ring Protect subscription required to unlock its full feature set ; Trails the competition in terms of resolution and field of view

Letting you see who's at the door from afar, even if they don't ring the bell, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 keeps watch over your doorstep. Like many smart
Responds quickly ; Standalone wireless Chime ; Intelligence alerts and adjustable notification tones ; Colour pre-roll
Requires subscription to record video clips ; Vertical viewing angle could be better ; Tricky to attach to the wall
With plenty of advanced features and granular controls, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 could be a welcome addition to your front door.

With a video doorbell, you have your own personal doorman around the clock.
Two-factor approval is nice from a safety consideration. The image is really good in both light and dark, and the sound is experienced as stable.
No app support for Nordic languages. To get the most out of your video doorbell, you will have to buy a subscription.
Call Video Doorbell 4 is super easy to install and use, and there are good and informative videos in the app. The system can be expanded with both indoor and outdoor cameras, lighting and more.

While its name suggests otherwise, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 is probably the tenth such device to come from Ring and reflects the continual refinement of the form. The new feature for this mode is color Pre-Roll, which gives you a better glimpse at...
Pre-roll much improved Works as wired or wireless model Large ecosystem of compatible devices
No end-to-end encryption Small vertical field of view No package detection
Get the Ring Video Doorbell 4 if the view from your front door is partially obscured, and you need a wireless model. But Arlo offers more features for the price.
