Shotty

Belkin's a good brand, I've bought other devices from them in the past that performed as they should. Sad this wasn't more then it is, and I bought 2 as well, both are no bueno.

RE: Buyer Beware

Like any other home automation solution, it has glitches but most of them have been worked out. Most of the problems I have seen is that they like DHCP Reservations, aka static ip's done through the DHCP. That makes the memo much more useable and stable.

Ok, so I see a lot of negative reviews and they are do mostly because people do not know how to properly reset them. The process takes 2-3 minutes and must be done exactly as stated. Plugin the Wemo, press the reset button until it flashes Orange/Blue....

Sometimes if they aren't used a lot, they can freeze up. RMA if this happens or wait for the next firmware update

Do not buy

Belkin has been 'working hard' to fix these problems, but I've had ones of these outlets for 2 years and it never has worked as advertised.

The device works relatively well, it works as a switch which turns on and off a receptacle

The UI is horrible, and makes this device unusable. not only does it require you to use a smart phone to access, the setup takes several hours to complete successfully. Then your device will suddenly be forgotten after a week or two, or when belkin...

Has potential but not so good now

They really need to fix the software. This device could be so great if they would only spend time fixing it. 3rd party software works better at controlling this thing than Belkin itself. So sad.

The hardware itself works great. Once programmed it does as it's told and works over WiFi or Cellular just fine

Works on multiple devices

I have the latest firmware update and it seems to work just fine on two devices. The instructions are minimal in the box, only online. It has a lot of potential that hopefully Belkin will follow through with software updates.
