The Google Nest Cam with Floodlight is a great two-in-one device. Here's our review.
Lovely modern design ; Great picture quality ; Good feature set ; Excellent floodlight capabilities ; Easy to use
Some features locked behind subscription ; No local storage ; Requires wired installation
The Nest Cam with Floodlight is excellent. Its modern design won't suit all homes and installation is potentially tricky for those without a current wired light, but it's a great two-in-one device that performs brilliantly overall.

The Nest Cam with Floodlight adds powerful LEDs to light up your garden or drive and offers certain features without a subscription
Subscription not required ; Good floodlight ; Records if Wi-Fi goes down
Expensive ; Google Home app needs improving for cameras ; Limited integration (Google-only)
The floodlight means much improved video quality when it’s dark. But it’s expensive, the Google Home app is inferior to the Nest app and you can only control the floodlight with Google Assistant. It’s only a good buy if you’re a die-hard Google fan who...

The Nest Cam with Floodlight (wired) adds a bright dual floodlight to the already-excellent Nest Cam (battery), and though it's a touch on the pricey side, we feel the price is justified.
Excellent video quality ; Free tier is actually useful ; Thoughtful app experience ; On-device motion and facial recognition processing ; 5 GHz WiFi radio ; Battery backup ; Up to 3 hours on-device storage if Internet goes out
Only compatible with Google Home ; No expanded local storage option ; Some on-device features subscription-locked
Still, for the price, the Nest Cam with Floodlight offers the best outdoor security camera experience in its class. It has excellent video quality, built-in battery backup, local storage, and an intuitive app. It also offers features for free that with...

Nest has rolled out an all-new Google Nest cams lineup that includes an indoor/outdoor Nest Cam, a wired Nest Cam, and a Nest Cam with Floodlight. If you want to save some money, go with the Nest Cam, but if you want powerful, long-range night vision,...
In our extensive testing of each, we found that Nest’s cameras are some of the highest quality on the market today, especially in terms of video and artificial intelligence capabilities. We got the same high-quality equipment and low-cost cloud storage...
