B&O Beoplay M3 review: Premium design and audio, plus some smarter features too, but it doesn't have a microphone for voice control.
Excellent sound quality ; Beautifully designed ; Spotify Connect, Google Cast and Apple AirPlay ; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connected
No built-in microphone for voice control ; Mono speaker only ; Expensive
A relatively pricey speaker that offers premium design and audio quality with decent connected features. It lacks stereo, however, and could benefit from a microphone for future-proofed voice controls.

Sleek and simple multi-room
Spotify Connect, Google Cast, AirPlay and Bluetooth support ; Voice control via Google Home ; Looks great
Mono only ; Comparatively expensive
A great sounding mono speaker with support for every major streaming protocol, but it's a shame there's no stereo pair option.

The B&O Beoplay M3 has premium Scandinavian styling, with blended lamb's wool or 'pearl blasted, anodized aluminium' interchangeable covers. It's also claimed to have 'rich and authentic Bang & Olufsen Signature Sound'. So did this speaker impress out...

Could this be the long-awaited Sonos alternative?
Compact design ; Loud output without distortion ; Compatible with AirPlay, Google Cast, Bluetooth, and wired sources
Doesn’t sound great at extreme high or low volumes ; No voice control options at all ; Expensive price tag
Sonos contender or just a pretender?

The B&O Play Beoplay M3 multi-room speaker delivers powerful bass for its size, sometimes at the expense of overall balance in the mix.

Bang & Olufsen's most affordable multi-room speaker is a strong value.
Rich, deep bass and a wide soundstage ; Supports Chromecast and Apple Play as well as Bluetooth ; Minimalistic design and solid build quality
Monaural speaker, you’ll need to buy a second M3 for stereo ; No Spotify Connect functionality ; Expensive compared to competing products
Thanks to the plethora of connection options, minimalistic design, and rich bass-heavy sound, the B&O Beoplay M3 is an excellent choice for anyone interested in building a multi-room speaker system for their home. But, as it’s more expensive than many...

The speaker had the highest audio quality during our tests.
It doesn’t have voice-control capability.
If you are serious about audio quality, the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay M3 is the best wireless speaker for less than $400.
