Google Home Hub review: Powerful integration with Google's services, refined smart home controls combine and a low price make this the smart speaker to beat
Easy to converse with ; Touchscreen displays extra information ; Dedicated smart home controls ; Integrated YouTube
Doesn't like G Suite accounts ; Can't play Netflix ; No webcam
Powerful, flexible and brilliantly using the screen to deliver more results, the Google Home Hub pulls in the full power of Google's services, but this isn't the best display for video and music.

The Home Hub – now the Nest Hub – adds a screen to the standard smart speaker formula

Google's smart home offering, called Google Home, arrived later than the popular Amazon Echo range of connected home products. But, in our opinion, they're just as good.
Cheaper than Echo Show Google Photos integration Innovative Home View UI Music on-demand
Smaller screen Limited video calling Weak audio
If you’re more interested in controlling your smart devices than you are watching movies or making video calls, the Google Home Hub makes a compelling claim to be the center of your smart home.

The Google Assistant centre for your smart home: the Nest Hub is the always connected central point to control smart devices, watch YouTube and more.
Great design and display ; Fantastic smart home control ; Adequate sound quality ; Excellent as a digital photo display ; YouTube integration ; Excellent price
No Zigbee support built-in ; Google Home app could be a little more intuitive
If you've got compatible smart home products installed, the Google Nest Hub is totally worth its cover price – and absent of any unwanted video calls/privacy issues. But if you're already invested in Amazon then it might not make sense for you....

With the Nest Hub (formerly known as the Home Hub), Google finally has its own smart display, giving you another way of interacting with its handy Assistant.

Google's smart display is dwarfed by the Amazon Echo Show in size, but not in features.
The Google Home Hub's touchscreen is responsive and works well in combination with Google Assistant, whether you ask for help on a recipe or to check what's on your calendar. Pictures and videos look particularly crisp thanks to an ambient light sensor...
The sound quality is fine for background music, but nowhere near the level of other smart displays like the Amazon Echo Show or the JBL Link View. It's more on par with the diminutive Google Home Mini. The integration with the Nest Hello Video Doorbell...
The cameraless, petite Google Home Hub will blend into any room in your home. It's affordable, and quite useful as a digital assistant (especially in the kitchen), a photo frame and a smart home control panel.

Compact, stylish and good value for money
Compact design ; Fantastic screen ; High value price point
No camera for video calls ; Limited number of apps at launch ; Lacks oomph in the bass
Google’s first screen-based smart helper is not only great, it offers real value for money

This startup is combining the Google Home with a touchscreen and a smart home hub.

The Google Assistant-powered smart display cuts the camera and adds adaptive brightness and a smart home control panel.
