The Fossil Gen 6 Wellness edition is the latest attempt to make a wearable that's part smartwatch, part traditional timepiece.
Nicely designed watch ; More data packed watch face ; Improved companion app
Screen needs to be bigger ; Watch software still feels clunky and slow ; Isn’t fit for swimming or showering
While the Fossil Gen 6 Wellness edition promises to improve the way you can track your general health and fitness, it still needs to deliver a better core hybrid smartwatch experience to make this worthy of a place on your wrist.

Fossil's Snapdragon Wear 4100+-powered smartwatch is finally here – but without Wear OS 3 at launch, is it worth buying?
Wear 4100+ is exactly what Wear OS needs ; Varied options to suit different styles ; Speedy GPS tracking
No Wear OS 3 at launch ; Minor upgrade over the Gen 5 ; Fossil’s fitness tracking is a letdown ; Dull array of watch faces included
With Wear OS 3 missing at launch and only the Snapdragon Wear 4100+ to write home about, the Fossil Gen 6 simply isn’t the upgrade I was anticipating. Nevertheless, the watch remains a capable device with a sleek design, a fast processor and impressive...

A solid Wear OS watch, though not much is new
Sleek design ; Fast speeds and smooth navigation ; Great display
Short battery life ; Wear OS 3 not coming until 2022 ; Little changed from predecessor

A solid, fast, sleek new Wear OS watch
Sleek design ; Fast Snapdragon Wear 4100 Plus chipset ; Rapid battery recharging
Wear OS 3 coming 2022 ; One-day battery life ; Limited health tracking

Fossil's sixth-gen model packs a more powerful processor, but is still waiting for the new software to arrive so isn't as complete as it could be.
Faster and more responsive than predecessors ; Attractive design ; Not too expensive
Doesn't have the new Wear OS ; Fitness tracking is basic ; GPS inaccurate ; Too easy to accidentally press buttons
A good-looking smartwatch that's faster and more responsive than its predecessors. But while new hardware is here, the latest Wear OS software is not - and that leaves us wanting for a little more.

The Fossil Gen 6 Wellness Edition is the company's first native Wear OS 3 smartwatch. While it features a snazzier design than the original, it has the same hardware, and the upgrade to Wear OS 3 isn't enough to redeem its flaws.
Wear OS 3 is marginally better ; Lots of watchfaces ; Better GPS tracking ; It’s a snazzy watch ; iOS compatible
Battery life ; No Google Assistant ; Settings keep resetting themselves ; Fossil app is barebones
But for the price, you’re going to get a fuller experience with the $280 Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 or the $350 Pixel Watch. Both those watches have a more polished version of Wear OS 3, faster processors, better battery life (though it’s a close call with...

The Danish-inspired, minimalist Skagen Falster Gen 6 is one of the most stylish smartwatches you can buy, although the Wear OS platform that powers it isn't nearly as sleek.

The Razer-branded Fossil Gen 6 is an attractive and comfortable smartwatch, though the Wear OS platform that powers it remains uneven.

The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness Edition strikes a solid balance of simplicity and smarts. It's an ideal smartwatch for someone who wants a long-lasting device with basic fitness tracking, though it
, but it certainly should do the job if you’re hoping to get moving a bit more.

The Fossil Gen 6 Hybrid Wellness Edition is the latest hybrid smartwatch from Fossil Group. It sports a design similar to its Wear OS counterpart but with a simplified UI and physical hands. I didn't see the appeal of hybrid smartwatches, but I do now.
