Huawei Watch 2 review: Huawei's new Android Wear 2.0 gets seriously sporty and includes GPS, heart rate monitoring and NFC.
Comfortable and lightweight design ; Android Wear 2.0 is a big improvement ; Plenty of sports sensors ; NFC and Android Pay convenience
Small display ; Thick bezels ; Uninspiring design
The Huawei Watch 2 has plenty to appeal to runners, but a bland design and small screen means it falls just short of the podium.

The Huawei Watch 2 is the follow-up to 2015's Huawei Watch, and one of the first smartwatches to launch with Android Wear 2.0. Taking a leaf out of LG's book, the Watch 2 is available in two models.

A well-equipped smartwatch with too many features
Built-in GPS and NFC ; Optional 4G model ; Feature-packed smartwatch
Screen a little too small ; Performance can be sluggish ; Design less premium than predecessor
Huawei tries to cover all use cases with the Watch 2, and while it hits most of them, it doesn't do it in a way which is overly user-friendly. If anything, it strengthens the case for specialized smartwatches, rather than a one-device-fits-all approach.

With 4G, GPS, a barometer and heart-rate tracking the Watch 2 means you can leave your phone behind…
4G connectivity ; Lightweight and comfortable ; Decent battery life
No crown or bezel control ; Inaccurate fitness sensors ; Small screen, large bezel

As a smartwatch that will deal well with sports, the Huawei Watch 2 is actually pretty good.
Wearability and solid design ; Android Wear functionality means phone-free control ; 4G option ; Two day battery life (on Wi-Fi only)
Strap is cheap in look and feel ; No rotational dial control ; Battery life on 4G ; Huawei Health app can be irksome
The Huawei Watch 2 is something of a surprise package: great for on-the-go independent control without a phone thanks to (optional) 4G, well built and full of top-spec hardware and features.

It's been around for a while now but the Huawei Watch 2 is still one of the best smartwatches you can buy. Read our full review to find out why.

The Apple Watch Series 3 ( £399.00 at Apple ) offers 4G support, meaning you can receive calls, notifications and more without the use of your iPhone ( £699.00 at Apple ) . That's great -- if you have an iPhone. Android users are left without though,...
The Huawei Watch 2 is one of few watches that supports 4G connectivity, though not in the US, and does fitness tracking as well as any other wearable.
No features that make this a must-have device for the average user. It's also a little too big and bulky, and its 1.2-inch screen is too small.
Within the category of smartwatches, the Huawei Watch 2 is a great device. But that doesn't mean it's one you need to buy if you're not already sold on wearables.

It's gone sporty, but the Watch 2 needs more time in the gym...
One of the longer-lasting Wear watches ; Packed full of features
Boring design lets down high-quality build ; Sketchy on-watch GPS ; Not swim-ready ; Expensive
A great way to experience Wear 2.0’s new tricks, but its fitness features need to work better

Huawei Watch 2 Review: We've been wearing the Huawei Watch 2, one of the 1st Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches, for well over a week now. Here's what we think.
Sensor packed ; Water resistant ; Android Wear 2.0 ; Design choices
Cheap strap on standard model ; Occasional pause or stutter
The Watch 2 packs all of the hardware features you’d expect from a modern premium smartwatch, backed by Google’s ever-evolving and increasingly effective Android Wear OS. The standard strap might be a bit cheap and ugly, but that’s easily fixed and the...
