Is Pebble's metal smartwatch the one you need around your wrist?
Works with Android and iOS ; Excellent battery life ; Easy to use
Monochrome design ; Only Cosmetically different from cheaper Pebble
The only downside of this system is that if you happen to lose this cable, you have no means of recharging the watch unless you purchase another; in the past, we've seen Sony's smartwatches use the now-ubiquitous Micro-USB port, which is a better...

An E-ink screen lost in a sea of colour
Easy to read in direct sunlight ; Waterproof ; Designer style ; 4 day battery life
Only 8 apps at a time ; Not a touchscreen ; Limited functionality
The Steel gets the core smartwatch functions right; customisable notification control, decent battery life and simple operation. It lacks features compared to the competition, but its reserved design means it'll blend into your life.

Is the Pebble Steel the best smartwatch to buy?
iPhone & Android support ; Professional design ; Always-on display
Limited functions ; No killer feature ; No touchscreen

Pebble has followed up the launch of its original smartwatch with the Pebble Steel, a smartwatch for grown-ups which, as the name suggests, is crafted from stainless steel rather than plastic. As a piece of technology the Pebble Steel is fantastic. It...
Premium design, metal and leather straps included, ease of use, expanding apps library, phone sync recognises multiple Pebble devices
Slow menu, apps don't offer much unless you can find one that really makes a difference for you, iOS notifications are all or nothing
As a piece of technology the Pebble Steel is fantastic. It delivers the same brilliant experience as the original Pebble in a device that looks far more premium. However with that discreet new look comes a different way of using the device - an issue...

We slip the Pebble Steel on to our wrist and it's cold. It might be because the spokeswomen from the company has just hot-footed it from the Venetian to

Once again, I've come back to the Pebble Steel.
A classic, sharp-looking design; works with iPhones and Android phones; screen readable in bright daylight; swim- and shower-friendly; built-in pedometer for persistent fitness tracking; wide variety of quirky apps.
Older technology compared to competition; onboard storage limited to eight apps at a time; still requires charging twice a week; lacks heart-rate monitor or more advanced fitness features.
The competition is advancing fast, but the geeky-cool, functional, and affordable Pebble Steel's conservative approach still works.

The Pebble Steel is a stylish alternative to Android Wear smartwaches which has good functionality and even better battery life. Here's our Pebble Steel review. See: The best smartwatches 2014 UK.
The Pebble Steel may not have a high-res and colourful screen and the square design may not be for everyone, but we think it's stylish and the display has a retro charm which also provides excellent battery life. A good alternative to Android Wear if...

Less is more with Pebble's second smartwatch - wish list wristwear doesn't come better than this
Comfortable, looks like a real watch ; Five day battery life ; iOS and Android compatible ; App store has bags of potential
More expensive than original Pebble ; Screen could be a bit bigger
Future features meet a familiar watch form - the Pebble Steel is the best smartwatch you can buy

The Pebble Steel has opted to shun a touch screen, instead opting to have its users control the smartwatch via is physical buttons located on either side of the watch face. This was something we were a little surprised about, as cycling through the...
The Pebble Steel is probably the most traditionally stylish smartwatch available right now, and for us that is what separates this from its competition – its lack of a touch screen is a little disappointing, but it’s ample features set goes someway to...

The Pebble Steel is the metal version of Pebble's first smartwatch. It has a monochrome display and outstanding battery life, but what's it like for notifications? We've tested the Pebble Steel to find out.
