Crucial's latest SSD has big shoes to fill, as the MX100 has been our favourite budget drive for some time thanks to solid performance and a jaw-dropping price. The MX200 carries on Crucial's tradition for keen pricing – it's newer, but it costs just £90.
Slightly better read speeds ; Much improved write pace ; Different form factors available ; Still cheap
MX100 still faster in a handful of tests ; MX100 remains a little cheaper, too ; No smaller capacities available

The Crucial MX200 is a good quality SSD, here's our Crucial MX200 review and Crucial MX200 benchmarks
When we tested the Crucial M550 last year it had a price/storage quotient of 37 pence per gigabyte. The latest MX200 is today available for around 30p/GB but other than that little has changed, except the newer drive has smaller process 16 nm flash and...

Historically, larger capacity SSDs almost always outperformed their “smaller” siblings, sometimes by a significant amount. Crucial has done

Last year Crucial's MX100 series introduced 128GBit 16nm MLC NAND to the marketplace and ultimately redefined the meaning of 'value' orientated SSDs.
The SSD market used to be absolutely cluttered with the offerings from dozens of different companies and an endless swarm of rebranded

The Crucial MX200 solid-state drive has a lot to offer, including ultra-high endurance and enterprise features rarely seen in consumer-grade SSDs. Here's CNET's full review.
The Crucial MX200 includes helpful enterprise-class features rarely available in consumer-grade SSDs. It should last a long time, and it delivers fast performance.
The three-year warranty is short, and the drive is a bit more expensive than its competitors.
For heavy storage users who also need a high level of data safety, the Crucial MX200 is an excellent buy.

The new SSD has significantly higher durability, especially the 1TB capacity, and includes enterprise-grade data security features. In testing, it was also faster than the Samsung in certain categories.

Last year Micron launched M600 SSD for the OEM market, but unlike in the past there was no simultaneous retail product release. We were told that the M600 firmware features would sooner than later find their way into a Crucial branded product, which...
I think Crucial seriously needs to reconsider its product positioning strategy.

The Crucial MX200 SSD is a worthy upgrade for your tired laptop or desktop PC. And easy to do yourself.
I first swapped an old HDD with a SSD a few years back and since then all my personal systems had SSDs. This is the kind of upgrade you can't dismiss.

It seems like it was just yesterday that I set my sights on Crucial's MX100 256GB SSD. The MX100 was a solid drive (pun intended) that performed well, was affordable, and was as reliable as a 1980s Volvo (very reliable). Crucial thinks they can build...
An affordable drive with impressive longevity.
