Consumer review (newegg.com)

Cheap, and worked for a while

I have had more success with the 32GB model, maybe I got a bad one, but this is not what I signed up for when I bought it. Replaced with a 32GB from the same manufacturer.

Inexpensive and fast (while it was working) $69.99

It broke after the warranty expired, the BIOS no longer can see it, tried it in several machines. It died without any warning and some data was lost

Stay away..

It was the size it said it was when I bought it

Everything. Warranty is no good, the drive is slow, doesn't work with newer equipment

Good promotional buy!

Thought the install on this would be a no brainer but oddly enough the BIOS did not see it! I only plugged it on to a MB SATA connector to see that it worked on a new build machine. Could not believe it was not recognized but when W7 started up it was...

All the usual SSD advantages

Was not recognized by the BIOS on my Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3P MB with F8b BIOS

1 out of 2 worked

While one of them died while trying to put an image onto it using Ghost, the other one worked fine when I put it in an external USB carrier and used TrueImage to write an image to it, and then put it back into my netbook (Acer 751h) I was just barely...

Works both in a netbook and in a cheap external USB drive converter ; Price was great for an SLC drive when it was on sale

Tried to create an image on one with Ghost, after it was done, the drive was no longer recognizable ; Only minimal speedup over a hard disk, but I bought it for the reliability, not speed

Weird...

Yes I have an Nvidia chipset and yes I updated bios as Ritek suggested another reviewer. I am just very disappointed with this purchase and the results this drive has yielded. A huge let down from all the positive things I have read about SSD drives.

Once windows boots, things are quick

Recognized as an external drive in the bios ; INCREASED boot time...maybe because it is recognized as being external ; Once windows boots, there is one program that I have set to open by default, and that takes longer as well

manufacturer warranty policy

I thought to "buddy up" my OCZ MLC drives to some SLC counterparts, but will be having second thoughts due to the reluctance of the manufacturer to provide any info on thier warranty terms.

I just thought that potential purchasers shold benefit from my HOURS of research into the warranty time period associated with this particular product ; One year from time of invoice ; This information was exceedingly difficult to find, the only place...

Very Solid Performer

This drive is being used as my 'system' drive and, just to give you an idea, my reboot time is 27 seconds on Win7 x64. This beats *any* conventional drive by a long shot. Programs launch instantly, as conventional drives are the biggest bottle-neck in...

Blazingly fast. Dead silent. No fragmentation issues

Not easily mounted internally. Required a 2.5" internal SATA enclosure for mounting in my particular setup. MOST SSDs are built this way and RiDATA is no different

I am pleased.

I was skeptical after reading many complaints about pauses. I generally have ten or so programs running at the same time and do not suffer from this problem. I am running Linux with /tmp in RAM, no swap, and the deadline IO scheduler. Occasionally I...

Read speed, random output

Write speed, random input. $$ per GB

WOW!

I came to the reviews because I wanted to build my next gaming rig with SSD's, and customer support is high on my high-pri list, especially with new(er) technologies (makes sense, no?) Seeing the response told me volumes -- poor sap is underpaid,...

uh...SSDs are, in theory, quite cool...

WOW. Look at the response from customer SUPPORT "Manufacturer Response:Do you have problem with our SSD drive?" Surprised he didn't follow up with a gruff "You lookin' at me?!?"
