Two years after the T7 was launched Samsung delivers a more resilient design but doesn't make it any faster
Resistant to dust, rain and drops ; Hardware encryption ; Both USB cables included
No performance increase ; Only 1- or 2TB
Other than its ability to handle harsher treatment, there seem to be few obvious improvements over the original T7 design. That Samsung made it more robust but kept the same warrant period tells a story.

+ Incredibly fast + Simple, solid security + Beautiful design + Intuitive, easy to use software + Nothing’s quite as simple as a fingerprint
- Wasteful packaging
Having fast access to your data is one thing, but keeping it secure at the same time is another challenge altogether. Add in the requirement of the device being small and sleek and easy to use and the equation just continues to get more complex....

Samsung's Portable SSD T7 Shield is an external solid-state drive that's impervious to dust, rain, and tumbles. It's a durable and secure choice for outdoor workers and travelers, if on the slow side compared to non-rugged SSDs.

Samsung's lineup of portable SSDs has enjoyed tremendous success, starting with the T1 back in 2015 . The company has been regularly updating their PSSD lineup with the evolution of different high-speed interfaces as well as NAND flash technology.
