The Bose SoundLink Flex brings powerful sound and a rugged body, but it has tough competition

Sturdy build and finish ; Expressive, full-scale sound ; Strong battery life

Bass feels a little detached ; Can be spiky at high volume ; No EQ in app

The Bose SoundLink Flex delivers clear and rich audio, in a suitably tough body with decent battery life. It's not perfect, and it has some hot competition at this price, but it gets more than enough right to warrant consideration.

It may be small, but this is one of the best mini Bluetooth speakers out there and a surprisingly decent value at $150.

Delivers impressive sound for its compact size ; Can be propped up horizontally, laid down flat or hung vertically by its integrated loop ; Fully waterproof and dust-proof (and also floats) ; Up to 12 hours of battery life ; Speakerphone

No audio input ; Silicone finish on back attracts some dust and lint ; Uses Bluetooth 4.2 instead of 5.1
