Powerful, detailed, room filling sound ; Outstanding Dolby Atmos/DTS:X soundstage creation ; Excellent connectivity

It’s not cheap ; New subwoofer design could be more sensitive ; Requires some manual set up intervention

After a few generations of only offering relatively small refinements to its flagship soundbars, Samsung really rings in the changes for 2025’s HW-Q990F. A brave move – but for the most part, one I very much approve of

Hands on: Samsung HW-Q990F review

Samsung's latest soundbar package is here, and it has big shoes to fill

Small yet powerful new subwoofer ; Harmonious surround sound effect ; Detailed and engaging sound (so far)

Design getting a bit stale ; Needs further testing to decide on a definitive verdict

It's too early to say, but the Samsung HW-Q990F is already showing signs of being a promising sequel to an Award-winning Dolby Atmos soundbar package.

Samsung HW-Q990F Review: One Of The Best Samsung Soundbars

We've taken a look at the Samsung QN900F Neo-QLED 8K TV and now, it is time to take a look at the Samsung HW-Q990F soundbar.

Samsung managed to make the subwoofer smaller but even better ; Fantastic looking design ; Easy to use and setup ; Q-Symphony Sound when paired with a compatible Samsung TV ; 11.1.4 True Dolby ATMOS sound also wireless ; Space Fit Sound is like magic

I won't lie, it's expensive and some may shy away from the price ; It is a chunky boy and may not fit under some TVs on a stand

The Samsung HW-Q990F is an incredible 11.1.4 surround soundbar that is easy to connect and performs with excellence as a main home theater sound source. I paired it with a Q-Symphony compatible TV and a TCL QM8 and in both cases, it sounded amazing....
