An impressive budget tablet from Amazon...
Good value ; Decent performance ; Expandable storage ; Bright screen ; Good battery life
Screen lacks sharpness and contrast ; You’ll need to be a Prime member to get the most out of it ; Poor cameras
Needs an Amazon Prime subscription for the full experience, but even without Prime, you’ll struggle to find a better performing tablet at this price

Not perfect, but the best you can get for the price
Very low price ; Decent gaming performance ; Lots of storage
Dreadful cameras ; Screen lacks sharpness ; Poor speakers
The Fire HD 8 is evidence cheap tablets aren’ t progressing as fast as cheap phones. It is basic. However, it is also very affordable and can handle games and apps very well given the price. Not perfect, but the best you can get at the price.

If you don't mind the hard sell, this is how budget tablets should be done...
Bright screen ; Clean, crisp video ; Lightweight design ; Adequate performance
Music could be better organised ; No Google Play
If you don’t mind the Amazon hard sell, this is a good budget tablet that balances its compromises cleverly

Amazon All-New Fire HD 8 (2016) tablet review: If you're after an affordable family tablet and you happen to be a Prime member, then Amazon's...
Affordable ; Respectable performance ; Family features ; Great for Prime members
Basic design ; Flat colours
If you’re after a simple and affordable family tablet boasting fast access to all of your Amazon Prime content, then the All-New Fire HD 8 tablet is a worthy purchase. The hardware is basic but backed up by lots of great software features, and the...

Amazon's new Fire HD 8 looks a lot like last year's Fire HD 8, but there are a few key differences, the biggest of which is the new lower price tag. Much lower, in fact: $90 or £90. (It's not available in Australia so far, but the US price converts to...
The latest Fire HD 8 delivers faster performance, a bigger battery and more base storage than the previous version for almost half the price. Its 8-inch screen is bright, the speakers are loud and it offers expandable microSD storage and ample parental...
Display isn't as sharp as that of current iPad Mini models; to truly take advantage of what the tablet has to offer, you need an Amazon Prime membership; slow charging (takes 6 hours to fully cap battery).
Despite some small drawbacks, you just won't find a tablet with these features and performance at this price.

With microSD card slots, upgraded specs and a variety of colours to choose between, the HD 8 and HD 10 are literally the 7-in Fire's big brothers. But are they any good? Read our Fire HD 8 and HD 10 review to find out.
Unless you’re reading this review because you’ve spotted the HD 8 or HD 10 in a sale, they’re not great value at full price. They’re fine for casual users and once you’ve got to grips with the interface, they’re pleasant to use and have some useful...

The latest incarnation of the Amazon Fire HD8 promises a speedier experience than it's predecessor, with more RAM and claimed better battery life. Not only that, but it's cheaper, too, coming in at around £60 less at launch than the original tablet. So...

This $89.99 tablet is basically a solid, if unremarkable, portal to everything Amazon.
Excellent price ; Good HD screen ; Great sound ; Really good battery life ; Nice, easy interface ; Content access
Terrible cameras ; Average performance ; Style is blah
Amazon’s Fire HD 8 is a very affordable alternative to the pricier tablets on the market. Just don’t expect the world of it.

Amazon 8-inch tablet has more base memory (16GB), zippier performance, better battery life and a 40 percent lower price tag ($90). That adds up to a pretty sweet bargain.
