If you're looking for the iPad mini 5, this is it. It's called the iPad mini (2019), and it's Apple's new best small tablet.
Perfect size to tote around Works with the Apple Pencil Surprisingly powerful specs
Unchanged, bezel-heavy design Uses the older Apple Pencil Costs more than the iPad 9.7
The iPad mini 2019 is Apple’s most totable iPad, and it’s deceptively powerful for its small size. It has a bright 7.9-inch display that works with the Apple Pencil and a chipset that smokes the small tablet competition. Its price is equally deceptive,...

The new iPad mini is less versatile for work than the iPad Air, but it's incredible for creative endeavours and gaming

The iPad Mini gets better sound and picture quality
Bright, punchy and vibrant ; Lots of dark detail ; Crisp sound
Blacks could be deeper ; Speaker placement
The looks haven't changed, but under-the-skin improvements make the latest iPad Mini even better than before

Supreme power ; Best-in-class for the size ; TrueTone screen welcome ; Apple Pencil support
Design hasn't moved on ; Bezels are still huge ; Not a cheap option - it's pricier than the 9.7in iPad
There’s simply no better tablet at this size, with ultimate portability and unparalleled power for its price point.

Well over a year after its release, the 2019 iPad Mini remains the go-to small tablet for most people

It turns out the iPad's mini-me is good for more than just a bit of gaming and Netflix
Light and portable ; Powerful and fast ; Display is excellent ; Surprisingly versatile
Design feels dated ; Cameras aren’t amazing… ; … and neither are the speakers ; Uses the older Apple Pencil
Dated design aside, the best small tablet money can buy, with an excellent mix of portability, power and apps.

The fourth-generation iPad Mini is the first new small iPad in more than three years. Despite the length of time between updates, the Mini is actually very similar in design to the old model. That's great news for anybody who has an older model that's...

Apple has given the iPad mini a long-awaited update. We see what it has to offer against the excellent value of the iPad 9.7in (2018)
Apple's surprise update to the ailing iPad mini line brings it bang up to date with high-end processors, increased storage options, various little improvements, and Apple Pencil support.

Despite the various larger, more expensive, more powerful iPads, Apple has remained committed to its iPad mini, and we're very glad it has.
Impressive performance and battery life for a smaller tablet ; Bright, sharp and vibrant display ; Easy to setup and use ; Beautiful design with easy-to-use controls ; Support for Apple Pencil
Expensive ; Feels fragile/not very robust ; No microSD support ; Oddly placed speakers dull the sound
When Apple launched the iPad mini 5, many questioned whether there was still a place for a smaller tablet from the tech giant. Not just because tablet sales have been on the decline, but because the increasing size of Apple’s iPhones is blurring the...

Almost four years on, the new iPad mini is still every bit as good as always
Outstanding speed; Portable and convenient size; Beautiful display; Apple Pencil support
Few added features over the mini 4; reduced battery life
The 5th-generation iPad mini might not massively shake things up compared to its predecessor, but massive performance improvements combined with the mini's near-perfect form factor make Apple's diminutive tablet an absolute joy to use.
