Looks and feels right, but it's slow and full of freemium apps
Good battery life ; Solid case and stand ; Kids Mode ; Decent parental controls
Tatty selection of freemium apps ; Low-res screen ; Slow performance ; Poor camera ; Too expensive
With hardware that was slow enough when we reviewed the standard Galaxy Tab 3 a few months ago, all you're really paying the premium price for here is the case and the Kids Mode interface.

Standing still means moving back in the 7-inch tablet race
Solidly built ; Light, easy to handle ; Intuitive UI ; MicroSD slot
Dated design ; Poor value ; Mediocre performance ; Screen not up to scratch
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is a deeply unremarkable tablet with underwhelming performance and a low-res display that remains ostensibly unchanged since the launch of the original Galaxy Tab. It's a deeply average tablet that's been way over-priced by...

The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is the same as the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, but finished in bright yellow instead of white. It also comes with an orange silicone bumper case and – in a separate package which is often bundled free – a combined case and stand with...
This is one of the better kids’ Android tablets we’ve seen but with a street price of £150, it’s not cheap. Yes, you get Android Jelly Bean and access to Google Play, but the sluggish performance and poor cameras combine with the missing user profiles...

The largest tablet in the Galaxy Tab 3 lineup is sleek and smaller than most 10-inch tablets but, otherwise, is a dud with slow performance and frustrating functionality flaws.
The ; features a lightweight and compact design for a 10-inch tablet. Its screen is impressively bright, and a 64GB storage expansion option is always an appreciated extra.
The "hit-box" for the capacitive menu and back buttons is too large, and errant touches are common. Performance is slow when quickly switching apps and Wi-Fi speeds dramatically decrease the farther away from the router the tablet is. And $400 for a...
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is a sleekly designed tablet but, with more powerful and cheaper options available, it feels like more of the same, rather than an upgrade.

The 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is the latest example of the company's weird pricing decisions. At $300, the Tab 3 is expensive for a small tablet that -- aside from its 1.5GB of RAM -- has fairly modest specs and hardware features.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3's light, comfortable design, myriad useful features, and bright colorful screen makes the 8-incher one of the best small tablets on the market.
A price of $300 is a lot for any small tablet, and some features like Smart Stay and Watch On’s search don’t work as well as intended.
It costs a bit more than we'd like, but the Galaxy Tab 3 is Samsung’s best non-Note tablet yet.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (10.1-inch) with LTE is one of the rare Android tablets that's powered by an Intel Clover Trail+ Atom processor. Does it matter though? We compared it with other mid-tier tablets in the market to tell you the answer in this rev...
Good performance for a dual-core tablet; Supports 4G LTE; Decently priced
Possible incompatibility issues with old apps; Plastic feel; Sub-par camera

The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids' user mode is a concept that hits the mark and will surely appeal to many parents
Excellent, well thought out kids UI ; Parental controls add flexibility ; Good range of kids apps available
A little expensive ; Excellent Kid Grip Cover costs extra ; No multi-user profiles in Kids Mode
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids is an Android tablet specifically designed for children. The colourful, well designed device is a little expensive and is best utilised with an additional cost accessory, but its kids user mode is a concept that hits the...

Samsung confounded us last year when it released the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 as a virtual reissue of the original, bumping up the Android version, removing the
Lightweight, easy to hold ; Built-in IR blaster useful for TV viewing
Poor display for the price ; Cheap construction, unappealing design ; Uneven performance ; Big drop in battery life from the previous-gen model
The refreshed Galaxy Tab 10.1 is stuck in the past. Its specs, mostly unchanged from last year's model, make this a forgettable product. At this price, you're better off looking elsewhere.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab family was introduced back in 2011, to at least get a foot in the door swung open by the rising Apple iPad. The Tabs came in a variety of sizes and connectivity options with displays ranging from 7 inches all the way to the...

Many competitors (including the droids) already offer Full HD screens ; 1GB of RAM tends to run out quickly ; No FM Radio or NFC support ; Questionable still image and video recording quality ; Hardware Home button and capacitive Android keys make...
Like many of Samsung's midrange offerings, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is a mixed bag of features. On the one hand, you get the large display and slim design, the great codec support, and rich connectivity features which include an IR-port, while on...

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 isn't a bad tablet, but it already feels dated right out of the box, and you can do much better for $400.
