An Android alternative to the iPad mini that doesn't quite do it for us
Super-sharp screen ; Powerful processor ; Great build quality
More expensive than key rivals ; Oversaturated screen ; Performance issues, software bugs
Missing extras like this tell you the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is a mid-range device in the Galaxy range. However, it is relatively high-end in the 8-inch tablet space. Smaller Android tablets generally try to keep their prices fairly low.

The Tab Pro 8.4 is one of Samsung's finest tablets.
Stunning display ; Lightweight, nice proportion ; Impressive performance
Expensive ; Cheap design ; Speakers poorly positioned
By packing a super-sharp display, a powerful processor and a much-improved UI into a compact shell, the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is one of the finest tablets the company has ever produced.

Can the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 make a dent in the tablet market?
Amazing display ; Smooth performance ; Thin and light
TouchWiz (again!) ; Faux leather ; metal ; Pricey

When it comes to tablet strategy Samsung has saturated the market with devices of all sorts of sizes, with varying specs and running on different platforms. There's plenty of scope for confusion, as well as plenty of choice. There's a lot of great...
Fantastic display, plenty of power, useful software additions
Auto brightness, speakers a little lacklustre, high price, plasticky build
There's a lot of great features on the Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4. It is well built, slim and light, offering all-day battery life, great internal hardware and some useful software tweaks.

There's more to small tablets than bargains but this bold Samsung tab doesn't quite match the iPad Mini
That screen ; Software treats to gorge on ; MicroSD expansion to 64GB
Performance niggles ; Only so-so battery life ; No S Pen
Streamlined software and the sharpest screen on the planet make this more than Just Another Android - but that doesn’t mean it’s flawless

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 may not be one of the most affordable tablets around, but you get what you pay for in the best way possible. The 8.4-inch slate offers a comfortable design, a bounty of software features, solid hardware with smooth...
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 packs a sharp pixel-dense screen, zippy performance, and oodles of software features inside a comfortable and lightweight slate.
The $399.99 starting price is expensive. It's too easy to block the speakers and trigger the capacitive buttons unintentionally when holding the tablet in landscape orientation. Performance lags when using the multiwindow function.
The premium specs and high-end feel of the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 make it well worth the high price.

Samsung unleashes a fantastic all-round Android tablet but it's expensive.
Big screen in portable chassis; Portable; Micro SD support; Secure Android
Middling battery life; Expensive
The Galaxy Tab Pro is a brilliant all-rounder and is tailored for enterprise usage. But the battery life is disappointing and it's not cheap.

Samsung's Tab Pro 8.4 wants to be a business-class table. But does it deliver the goods?
Large, bright, high-resolution 8.4-inch screen ; Multi window, PIP app multitasking ; WebEx, RemotePC and e-Meeting apps pre-installed
Poor office app suite options ; Slow, mediocre camera ; Confusing printing options
Bottom Line: Given the Pro's office-oriented shortcomings, it's hard to suss Samsung's intention. The Note 3 does all the Pro does (and doesn't), even if its screen is half the resolution, at half the price, plus offers S Pen options if you need them....

The Tab is the latest Samsung to get the Pro treatment, uppingthe spec to create one of the best mid-sized tablets out there --though you'll pay a bit more for it.
Terrific screen, powerful processor, slim and sturdy build
On the pricey side
The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro a very good mid-sized tablet, but so isthe Google Nexus 7, and it costs a good £100 less. Still, for amidrange tablet you get a stonking screen and extremely powerfulprocessor with a pretty good camera thrown in. Not bad at all.

Samsung's newest Tab may just have what it takes to go the distance A few weeks ago Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and the Tab Pro 8.4 to the Philippine market.
