Can Toshiba's expensive Android tablet cut in to Apple's iPad sales?
Ports ; Front facing camera ; Solid
Dull display ; Expensive ; Too heavy

Fast Android 3.1 tablet has full-size USB and HDMI ports and Tegra 2, but also extra bulk
It's not the Folio 100 ; Fast processor ; Removable back cover ; Full-size USB and HDMI ; Good movie playback ; Great battery life
Weak screen ; Bulky and heavy ; Screen cracked ; Average design

Toshiba is, as it so often is, late to the tablet game. It was late to Blu-ray, because it was pushing its own - excellent - format, HD DVD. And it has been slow on the uptake in 3D and smart TV introduction too. All of that is understandable, as it's...
Light, lots of ports
Ugly, bendy plastic case, display not brilliant
Toshiba should have done better here. This isn't the worst Android tablet we've ever used, but it's a long way off what we would expect and hope for a big, established brand to produce. If it was £150, we would understand the huge quality compromises....

The Toshiba AT100 is a 10in Android tablet that may finally give the Apple iPad a run for its money.
If your life is solely in the cloud, and if you can't envision yourself porting over files on a USB drive, playing a video from your tablet on your TV via HDMI, viewing photos on the tablet that you just took on your digital camera, or using USB...

Toshiba Tablet (AT100) review: A 10.1in Android tablet with full sized HDMI and USB ports, and a removable battery
Full sized HDMI and USB ports ; Full SD card slot ; Removable, replaceable battery
Poor screen quality ; No 3G connectivity ; Build quality could be improved
Toshiba's unimaginatively named "Tablet" (AT100) tries to stand out from the pack by offering a removable battery, full sized HDMI and USB ports, and a full sized SD card slot. Unfortunately, Toshiba appears to have opted for a poor quality display...

Once again. The Toshiba Thrive had a rough start on the American
Absolutely silent; A lot of memory, easy to expand; 5 MP camera; Attractive price; HDMI; Full HD playback
Mixed workmanship; Reflective screen; No UMTS available; Docking station not easily obtainable
Is found on a large scale in our TOP 10 of tablets (German).

The Toshiba Tablet AT100 "Thrive" is, well, not very vibrant. It does offer options that no other Android tablet does, but the base unit has a poor display and can't store large files.
Full-sized USB port, HDMI port and SD card reader ; User replaceable battery
Poor display quality ; Can't store large files on the internal memory ; Annoying plastic covers on ports
Toshiba's tablet attempt is admirable for its accessories and full-sized ports, but the base unit falls short with a poor display and the inability to store large files on the internal memory. Maybe these issues will be fixed come the 3.1 update, and...

Toshiba joins PC makers Acer and Asus in creating an Android Honeycomb, but it brings a couple of new ideas that help set the AT100 apart from the rest.
Toshiba has given some thought to what makes a great portable device and chooses a textured rubber battery cover that should give the AT100 some grip. What will really help differentiate the AT100, though, is its price. Toshiba is recommending an...

A tad heavy is the first thing I notice about the Toshiba Tablet when I took it out of its packaging. Not as heavy as a notebook of course, but a fairly solid piece of gear, which is both good and bad. Good, in that it should handle the rough and...
Removable battery, good connectivity
Touch screen could be better, heavy
