Philips 50PF9631D 50in plasma TV

A 50in Plasma from Philips for under two grand! Is it too good to be true?

Philips 32PF9641D 32in LCD TV

Philips doesn't only produce great high-end TVs, its mid-range models are also worth shouting about.

Whatever philosophical doubts we may have about Philips’ current TV policy from a branding point of view, if it keeps resulting in TVs as good for their money as the 32PF9641D, from a punter’s perspective we'll have no problems with it whatsoever!

Philips 32PF9641D review

Price, function and performance in perfect balance

Impressive pictures ; Features galore

SD sources can look slightly grainy

Next to most other TVs in its price bracket the 32PF9641D is an outstanding effort

Philips 50PF9631D review

Close, but this 50-inch plasma is not quite right

Ambilight a very nice touch ; Great audio ; Good list of features

Picture flaws with high-def material

Not bad at all but there are issues here that hold this TV back from badge success

Philips 37PF9631D review

Philips keeps pulling at that LCD thread

Responsive and detailed picture ; Decent sound

Slightly limited colour range ; Some lack of detail from dark images

By no means perfect but the pros certainly outweigh the cons

Philips 42PF9631D review

Phillips ups its game with Ambilight technology

Strong features ; Attractive design ; Impressive connectivity ; Ambilight

Black levels ; Noisy SD pictures

A feature-packed set, sumptuous looks and a solid, if uninspired general performance

Philips 32PF9631D review

Clear LCD technology in a smaller and far cheaper set

Clear LCD technology for a better picture ; Nicely styled in black ; Two HDMI ports, component and VGA

Clear LCD not effective with HD sources

One or two foibles can't stop this TV from making another success for Philips

Philips 42PF9631D

It's not the young and sprightly 42in LCD it was but this Philips is still a tempting proposition, particularly with its new bargain price tag

Excellent picture for the price. Plenty of features. Easy set-up and use

Colour balance a little pallid. Pictures can suffer from noise

Philips 37PF9631D

Another day, another of Philips' seemingly endless run of LCD TVs. The 37PF9631D is one of the brand's higher-end TVs - which is apparent from its looks, which combine exceptionally heavy duty build quality with real designer panache

Responsive and detailed picture, Decent sound

Slightly limited colour range, Some lack of detail from dark images

By no means perfect but the pros certainly outweigh the cons
